ROCHESTER, NY – The St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans used a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay to edge Roberts Wesleyan University, 195–94, and capture the 2026 East Coast Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
Trailing by five points entering the final event, the Spartans secured the title with their third-place finish in the relay after the Redhawks were disqualified.

St. Thomas Aquinas scored in all but five events, highlighted by six individual first-place finishes and a victory in the 4x100-meter relay. The Spartans also had nine student-athletes earn All-Conference First Team honors and 12 receive Second Team recognition.
Four meet records were set on the day. In the 110-meter hurdles, St. Thomas Aquinas’ Darwin Almonte Pena posted a record time of 14.76. Molloy’s 4x400-meter relay team—Mark Siebenhuener, Christian Canela, Raymar Duncan, and Ryan Lepre—set an ECC meet record with a time of 3:20.76.
In the field events, Roberts Wesleyan’s Austin Melvin set a new pole vault record with a clearance of 5.02 meters (15' 5.5"). In the long jump, St. Thomas Aquinas’ Brian Appiah broke the ECC record with a leap of 6.96 meters.
