ROCHESTER, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women’s team captured its third consecutive East Coast Conference (ECC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship today. The Firebirds totaled 165 points, finishing 12 points ahead of second-place Roberts Wesleyan University. This marks the program’s fourth championship title.

District of Columbia earned four gold medals, including three from Kyndra Hines, who won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and set a meet record in the 100-meter hurdles. The Firebirds also had 12 student-athletes named to the All-Conference First Team. Seven individuals and one relay team received All-ECC Second Team honors.

Two additional meet records were set during the competition. Molloy’s Kathleen Healy broke the 10,000-meter record with a time of 38:12.21, while Victoria Maher of St. Thomas Aquinas set a new ECC meet mark in the discus with a throw of 42.59 meters.
