ECC Outdoor Track and Field Report - Week 4

Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Leelan Maxwell, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior, Greenburg, NY
Maxwell won the 100-meter dash (10.87) and placed fifth in 200-meter dash (21.88) at the Marist University Red Fox River Rumble this past weekend. The senior sprinter also helped his teammates take third in the 4x100 meter relay (41.87) and placed eighth in the long jump event (6.16m).


Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Gavin Kopf, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior, Congers, NY
Kopf won the discus (42.31m) and placed second in both the hammer throw (47.61m) and shot put (13.67m) events at the Marist University Red Fox River Rumble this past weekend.


Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Marie Naudus, Molloy
Graduate, Island Park, NY
Graduate student Marie Naudus maintained the tremendous momentum she has been building, setting two program records at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). Not only did Naudus break the 800-meter record she had recently set, but she also topped all competitors to earn a first-place finish. She recorded a time of 2:16.47 in the 800-meter. Naudus also competed in the 4x800-meter relay, helping the group secure another program record and an additional first-place finish. The group ran a time of 9:52.32.


Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Victoria Maher, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore, Marlboro, NY
Maher won both the discus (40.47m) and hammer throw (49.95m) events at the Marist University Red Fox River Rumble this past weekend.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Women's
Adriana Roa, College of Staten Island
Freshman, Farmingville, NY
Roa continued her strong performance on the track at the Rider Invitational when she broke the 1500m race school record, a record that stood since 2019, with a finishing time of 5:00.89. This is her third outdoor track record that she has secured through the last four meets for the Dolphins.
 
Jenna Capolupo, D'Youville
Junior, Wheatfield, NY
Capolupo had a strong outing at the UB Alumni Invite, placing in the top 10 in three events. In the field, Capolupo set a new personal best in the long jump with a distance of 5.73m, placing third in the field of 32. On the track, Capolupo placed fourth in the 200m (25.43) in the field of 39 and seventh in 400m (59.63) in the field of 22.
 
Barbara Kunz, D'Youville
Junior, Buffalo, NY
Kunz had a strong day in the javelin throw, placing second with a distance of 30.5m in the field of 18.
 
Brianne Repolio, Daemen
Junior, Haddon Heights, NJ
Repolio recorded a 29.11m throw in the javelin, breaking the program record and finishing fourth.
 
Kristen Oliver, Daemen
Junior, Massena, NY
Oliver took fourth in the hammer throw with a 46.02m toss, good for third in the program record book.
 
Patsy Oberholzer, Daemen
Senior, Greece, NY
Oberholzer continued her strong season with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000m and a fifth-place finish in the 1,500m. In the 5,000m, Oberholzer came in fourth with a personal-best time of 18:16.03. The senior crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 4:54.66 in the 1,500m, placing fifth.
 
Ava Shepherd, Molloy
Sophomore, West Hempstead, NY
Sophomore Ava Shepherd showcased her dominance this past Saturday at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). She topped all competitors in the high jump on her way to a first-place finish, recording a top jump of 1.55 meters.
 
Sophia Hines, Molloy
Sophomore, Merrick, NY
Sophomore Sophia Hines found success in multiple events this past Saturday at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). Hines recorded two top five finishes, one top 10 finish, and a program record. She set the program record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.56 meters, finishing in second place. Hines also placed third in the 100-meter with a time of 12.51 and finished sixth in the 200-meter, recording a time of 25.61.
 
Cameron Campo, Molloy
Freshman, Mount Sinai, NY
Freshman Cameron Campo etched her name into the program record books once again this past Saturday at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). Campo broke her own program record in the 400-meter, clocking a time of 58.27 to finish second overall. She also recorded a personal best in the 200-meter, finishing fifth with a time of 25.44.
 
Ava Wierda, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman, Batavia, NY
Freshman Ava Wierda had three top 10 finishes over the weekend at the Univ. of Rochester Alumni Invitational. She was fifth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 41.66 meters (136' 8), sixth in the Discus with a throw off 33.47 meters (109' 9") and ninth in the shot put with a heave of 9.85 meters (32' 3"). She is currently ranked in the top seven in all three events in the ECC standings.
 
Kennedy Benjamins, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore, Las Vegas, NV
Sophomore Kennedy Benjamins took a break from pole vaulting this week and ran in the 100-meter dash event at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational. In harsh weather conditions (wind, rain, snow, temp in the 30s), she won the event with a time of 12.50 seconds and finished nearly a half second over the second-place runner.
 
Zoe Shaw, District of Columbia
Senior, Kingston, Jamaica
Shaw delivered a strong multi-event performance for the Firebirds at the Morgan State Meet, scoring in two events. The senior placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.65m, a mark that leads the conference. She also added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.55m, which ranks third in the conference.
 
Tukey Francis, District of Columbia
Senior, St. Ann, Jamaica
Francis turned in a standout performance for the Firebirds at the Morgan State Meet, posting conference-leading marks in both the 200m and 400m.The senior clocked a time of 25.02 in the 200m and followed with a season-best 58.23 in the 400m, with both performances ranking as the top times in the ECC this season.
 
Samantha Morrison, District of Columbia
Senior, St. Catherine, Jamaica
Morrison delivered a strong performance for the Firebirds at the Morgan State Meet, earning a third-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:14.15.
 
Kayleigh Shelton, District of Columbia
Senior, Portland, Jamaica
Shelton delivered a standout performance for the Firebirds at the Morgan State Meet, highlighted by a runner-up finish (out of a field of 22) in the 100m hurdles. The senior clocked a personal-best time of 14.43s in the finals, improving her mark from the prelims (14.62q) to secure second place overall. Shelton also contributed in the 400m hurdles, posting a personal-best time of 1:08.84 to showcase her versatility across hurdle events.

CJ Johnson, Daemen
Junior, Baltimore, MD
Johnson continued his strong season with a fifth-place and program record-breaking performance in the 1500m, posting a time of 3:57.31. The junior broke his personal best time and the program record that he previously held. Johnson also came in 15th in the 800m with a time of 1:58.59.
 
Jurrel Hall, Molloy
Sophomore, West Hempstead, NY
Sophomore Jurrel Hall had himself an impressive performance this past Saturday at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). Hall's day included two top five finishes, with Hall finishing in third place in the triple jump and fourth place in the high jump. Hall recorded an effort of 13.51-meters in the triple jump and an effort of 1.85-meters in the high jump.
 
Djurabe Edmond, Molloy
Freshman, Westbury, NY
Freshman Djurabe Edmond was able to walk away from the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18) with a top five and a top ten finish. Edmond was able to take home fifth-place in the discus throw, recording a top attempt of 37.78 meters. In the shot put, Edmond finished in eighth-place with an attempt of 12.07 meters.
 
Raymar Duncan, Molloy
Sophomore, Elmont, NY
Sophomore Raymar Duncan was able to establish new 400-meter program record for outdoor this past Saturday at the Rider Invitational (Apr. 18). With this record, Duncan now holds the 400-meter program record for both indoor and outdoor. In his record setting performance, Duncan recorded a time of 49.40 and came in fifth-place.
 
Ethan LaClair, Roberts Wesleyan
Senior, Philadelphia, PA
Senior Ethan LaClair placed second in the Javelin Throw at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational Sunday with a throw of 41.93 meters (137' 6). He is currently ranked 15th in the East Region and third in the ECC in the event."
 
Diego Arellano Jasso, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore, Brockport, NY
Diego Arellano Jasso had a rest from Decathlon competition this past weekend but still got in some work as he raced to a third-place finish in the 110-hurdles with a time of 16.80 seconds. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the Decathlon and No. 9 in the 110 Hurdles in the ECC.
