Co-Players of the Week

Sean Welsh, Molloy
Senior, 1B, East Meadow, NY
Welsh was red hot at the plate in Molloy's 5-0 week that saw the program extend their win streak to 20. In five games, Welsh hit .458, slugged .875, and got on base at a .500 clip while collecting three multi-hit and multi-RBI games. It began Wednesday at Domincan where the senior totaled three hits, three RBI, and three runs scored on top of hitting a home run and stealing two bases. The power run continued Friday in game one against D'Youville where Welsh hit his second home run in as many days as part of a two-hit, two-RBI afternoon. Welsh capped the weekend hitting his third home run on Sunday while scoring three times and driving in two. On the week, Welsh totaled 11 hits, eight RBI, seven runs, five stolen bases, and three home runs.

Vincent Mallon, Queens
Senior, RF, Massapequa, NY
Senior Vincent Mallon continued his scorching stretch at the plate, batting .500 with a .560 on-base percentage and a 1.091 slugging percentage across five games. He tallied 11 hits, including four doubles and three home runs, while scoring eight runs, driving in 10, drawing two walks, and stealing six bases. Mallon recorded a hit in all five games, posting four multi-hit efforts and two multi-RBI performances. In a comeback win over Staten Island, he matched a season high with five RBI, highlighted by a double, a home run, and three runs scored. He added his third home run of the weekend series on Sunday to help Queens secure a key ECC victory.


Pitcher of the Week

Johnny Dezago, Queens
Senior, RHP, Howard Beach, NY
Senior Johnny Dezago made two appearances, including one start, totaling 6.2 innings while allowing nine hits and five earned runs with eight strikeouts. In a rain-shortened game, Dezago threw his first career complete game, allowing three earned runs and striking out a season-high six batters to earn the win on Sunday.


Rookie of the Week

Tate Van Alstyne, Mercy
Sophomore, IF/P, Chatham, NY
Van Alstyne pitched 3.0 shutout innings of relief without allowing a hit in game two at STAC on Sunday.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Billy Morris, D'Youville
Senior, INF/RHP, Lancaster, NY
On Friday, Billy started the game on the mound, tossing 6 innings, giving up four earned and striking out 8 batters in the opener against Molloy. He added to his weekend at the plate, hitting 6/16 with five runs scored and four RBI's, including a double in the series finale. DYU wasn't able to end Molloy's winning streak, but Morris continues to put up strong individual numbers in his senior season.
 
Dylan Koch, Mercy
Junior, SS/3B, Yorktown Heights, NY
Koch hit a team-high .615 (8-for-13) with four runs, three RBI, three stolen bases and a .667 on base percentage as Mercy went 2-2 on the week. The junior opened the week going 4-for-5 with three RBI and a stolen base in game one against STAC on Friday. Koch ended the week going 4-for-8 with four runs abd two stolen bases in Mercy's split at STAC on Sunday.
 
John Nisco, Mercy
Senior, OF, Tarrytown, NY
Nisco hit .500 (10-for-20) with a team-high seven runs to go with four RBI, two doubles and one stolen base as Mercy went 2-2 on the week. The senior opened the week going 5-for-11 with two runs and a double in the split against STAC on Friday. Nisco ended the week going 5-for-9 with five runs, four RBI and a double in the split at STAC on Sunday.
 
David Bernard, Jr., Mercy
Senior, 1B, Schenectady, NY
Bernard Jr. hit .400 (6-for-15) with a team-high six RBI to go with three runs and a home run as Mercy went 2-2 on the week. The senior went 4-for-7 with four RBI, a home run and two runs in the split against STAC on Friday. Bernard Jr. ended the week going 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in the Mavericks' game-one win over STAC on Sunday.
 
Brian Sanchez, Molloy
Junior, 3B, Merrick, NY
Sanchez continued to excel in Molloy's 5-0 week. The junior collected two four-hit games, hitting .458, slugging .708, and getting on base at a .519 rate. On Wednesday, against Dominican, Sanchez collected a home run, drove in four, and scored three times in a two-hit day. In game two against D'Youville on Saturday, the junior tallied a four-hit game, scored twice, and doubled. The third basemen ended the week with another four-hit day on Sunday where he scored four times and drove in a run. To cap the week, Sanchez totaled 11 hits, nine runs, six RBI, three doubles, and a home run.
 
Steve Mulqueen, Molloy
Sophomore, RF, Wantagh, NY
Mulqueen was the man of the hour in Molloy's 5-0 week, collecting two walk-off hits on Saturday afternoon against D'Youville. In game one, Mulqueen connected for a home run in the early goings before connected for a walk-off double into right field to top the Saints in the 10th inning. Game two saw the sophomore come to the plate with the winning run on second with two outs and deliver a line drive single to center field to win it. On the week, Mulqueen hit .400 totaling eight hits, seven runs, seven walks, six RBI, two doubles, and a home run while getting on base at a .556 clip.
 
Tommy Pasqua, Queens
Sophomore, INF, Williston Park, NY            
Sophomore infielder Tommy Pasqua delivered a career-best week, hitting .474 with a .583 on-base percentage and a .526 slugging percentage. He recorded nine hits, including a double, drew three walks, stole a base, scored a team-high nine runs, and drove in five. Pasqua tallied a hit in all five games, notching three multi-hit and two multi-RBI performances. He added three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday’s ECC victory.
 
Peter Bounougias, Queens
Sophomore, DH, Plainview, NY
Sophomore Peter Bounougias posted a strong week at the plate, batting .313 with a .450 on-base percentage and a .563 slugging percentage. He totaled five hits, including a double and a home run, while scoring six runs, drawing four walks, and driving in eight. Bounougias recorded two multi-hit and two multi-RBI games. In the two wins over Staten Island, he went 4-for-? with five runs scored, a double, a home run, and eight RBI. After a three-RBI performance on Saturday, he followed with a career-high five RBI and two runs scored on Sunday to help secure the conference victory.
 
Anthony Dimarco, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior, C/DH, New Paltz, NY
Dimarco hit .529 (9-for-17) on the week, with two doubles, two homers, 8 RBI and eight runs scored in four games against Mercy University.
 
C.J. Cumbo, St. Thomas Aquinas
Graduate, OF/IF, East Meadow, NY
Cumbo hit .375 (6-for-16) on the week, with a double, a triple and two homers, 6 RBI and six runs scored in four games against Mercy University.
 
Nick Oelcher, St. Thomas Aquinas
R-Junior, SS, Holbrook, NY
Oelcher hit .353 (6-for-17) on the week, with two doubles and two triples, 6 RBI and five runs scored in four games against Mercy University.
