Player of the Week

Sofia Marella, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | Designated Player | Cranston, R.I.
Marella helped the Spartans with a .500 (3-for-6) batting average and outstanding all-around play. The STAC sophomore scored a pair of runs, drove in three RBI, stroked two home runs, and a game-winning double en route to a 1-1 week against Wilmington (Del.).


Pitcher and Rookie of the Week

Emma Grace Popp, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | Pitcher | Buffalo, N.Y. 
Popp earned her third win of the season in complete game 2-1 victory of East Region power Wilmington University (Del.) last week. The freshman pitcher allowed just two hits and a run, while walking three and striking out six.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Mikaela Mammola, Mercy
Sophomore | Outfielder | Pawling, N.Y.

Mammola hit a team-high .600 (6-for-10) with a team-high four RBI to go with two stolen bases and two runs as Mercy went 2-2 on the week. The sophomore opened the week going 3-for-5 with two RBI against Saint Anselm and Minot State on Monday. The outfielder then went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs in Mercy's wins over Saint Michael's and Ohio Dominican on Tuesday.

Mackayla Secoda, Mercy
Senior | Pitcher | Lansdale, Pa.

Secoda pitched 6.0 scoreless innings with a 1-0 record, two hits allowed and four strikeouts. The senior pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Minot State on Monday with one strikeout and ended the week with 6.0 shutout innings and three strikeouts to earn the win over Ohio Dominican on Tuesday.

Mae Savage, Molloy
Senior | Infielder | San Diego, Calif. 

Savage concludes the Florida trip with a .455 batting average across 22 at bats. The senior recorded a .545 slugging percentage and a .478 on base percentage on 10 hits, including a triple, five RBI, and one walk. At the top of the lineup, Savage jump started the offense this week beginning with five hits and two RBI in the doubleheader against RV Florida Tech. She then recorded a leadoff triple against Lewis and went 3-for-5 against Post, driving in three runs.

Skyler Secondino, Molloy
Junior | Pitcher | Seaford, N.Y. 

Secondino closed out the Florida trip with two wins in the circle, tossing a total of 16.2 innings and striking out five batters. The freshman threw 3.2 hitless innings in relief against Saint Michael's, while striking out one batter.  She followed that with a win against Post, where she pitched 4.1 innings in relief and limited the Eagles to just two hits.

Olivia Wanser, Queens
Junior | Catcher/Outfielder | Westbury, N.Y.

Junior Olivia Wanser paced the Knights’ offense, recording a .800 batting average, .857 on-base percentage, and a 2.000 slugging percentage in Queens’ lone doubleheader of the week against Caldwell. Wanser totaled four hits, two home runs, four RBI, two runs scored, and two walks while extending her hitting streak to seven games and notching her third multi-hit game of the season. In game two, Wanser went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two home runs, two runs scored, and a team-best four RBI.

Jianna Lopez, Staten Island
Junior | Third Base | Garden Grove, Calif.

She finished the week appearing in all six games for the Dolphins, going .381 (8-21) at the plate and recording four runs, three doubles, a triple, and six RBI.

Aliveah Warner, Staten Island
Junior | Designated Hitter | Toledo, Ohio

The junior led the team in the three-game week, going .500 at the plate (10-20) with three runs, a home run, a triple, and six RBI. Her top two performing games in the week were against Dominican and Felician, both in game two, where she went 3-4 against the Chargers with a run and two RBI, and 3-3 against the Golden Falcons with a home run, which was the go-ahead moment that gave the Dolphins the game two win, and two RBI.
