Player of the Week
Mariah Cepeda, Molloy
Junior, Catcher, Farmingdale, NY
Cepeda posted a .500 batting average, .864 slugging percentage, and .522 on base percentage on 11 hits and nine RBI this past week. Cepeda started off the week strong, going 5-for-7 at the plate in the doubleheader against Jefferson, including two RBI doubles, and a pair of RBI singles. In game two against Queens, the junior was among the leaders in hits going 2-for-4 with a career-best four RBI off her first collegiate grand slam. Cepeda closed out the week with a total of four hits, including two doubles, and an RBI in the doubleheader against D'Youville.
Pitcher of the Week
Emma Grace Popp, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman, Pitcher, Buffalo, NY
Popp registered a 3-0 record with wins against Post, Bridgeport and Staten Island. Against Post, the freshman pitcher twirled a 4-0 shutout with 12 strikeouts while allowing just three hits. For the week, she posted a 3.00 ERA with 24 strikeouts and only three walks.
Rookie of the Week
Emma Jackson, Mercy,
Freshman, OF, Marlboro, NY
Jackson hit .458 (11-for-24) with eight runs, five RBI, one double and two stolen bases in seven games this week. The freshman went 4-for-9 with three runs and two RBI at Caldwell on Wednesday. The outfielder then went 4-for-6 with three RBI, three runs and a double in the sweep of Staten Island on Friday. Jackson ended the week going 3-for-6 with two runs in the sweep of Holy Family on Sunday.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Summer Clark, D'Youville
Senior, Pitcher, Williamsville, NY
Clark finished the weekend with just a 1.75 ERA after pitching a complete game in game one against Molloy and coming in for an inning of relief in game two. The Senior earned the win in game one while striking out six batters in total to move her record to 11-4 on the season.
Frankie Morris, D'Youville
Sophomore, IF/ C, Lancaster, NY
Morris was a key piece of the Saints offense this past weekend batting .571 overall with four hits, three RBIs, and three doubles.
Danielle Fenlong, D'Youville
Sophomore, OF, Georgetown, Ontario
Fenlong batted .500 on Saturday recording four hits and 2 RBIs.
Marina Provencio, Mercy
Senior, Pitcher, Santa Clarita, CA
Provencio went 1-0 with a 2.80 ERA and two strikeouts in 10.0 innings pitched. The senior opened the week with 3.0 innings pitched, three runs allowed and one strikeout at Caldwell on Wednesday. The pitcher ended the week with a complete game with just one earned run and three hits allowed to go with one strikeout to earn the win in game two against Holy Family on Senior Day on Sunday.
Allison Murphy, Mercy
Junior, 2B, Stony Point, NY
Murphy hit .424 (14-for-33) with a team-high 14 RBI, 12 runs, six doubles, two home runs, one triple, one stolen base and a .848 slugging percentage as Mercy went 5-3 on the week. The junior opened the week going 6-for-8 with four runs, two RBI, one triple and one home run in Mercy's split at defending East Region Champion Pace on Tuesday. The second baseman then went 2-for-9 with three RBI, four runs and one double at Caldwell on Wednesday. Murphy then went 5-for-8 with five RBI, two doubles, a home run and three runs in the sweep of Staten Island on Friday. The junior ended the week going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run and one double in the game one win over Holy Family on Sunday.
Averi Miller, Mercy
Junior, SS, Las Vegas, NV
Miller hit a team-high .538 (14-for-26) with nine RBI, six runs, three doubles, one triple and three stolen bases as Mercy went 5-3 on the week. The junior opened the week going 5-for-8 with three RBI, two runs and two doubles in the split at defending East Region Champion Pace on Tuesday. The shortstop then went 3-for-7 with three RBI and one run at Caldwell on Wednesday. Miller then went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI in the sweep of Staten Island on Saturday. The junior ended the week going 3-for-7 with two RBI, a run, a double and a triple in the sweep of Holy Family on Sunday.
Julianna Coluccio, Mercy
Junior, 3B, Sicklerville, NJ
Coluccio hit .389 (7-for-18) with seven RBI, one home run, three runs, and one stolen base in five games. The junior went 1-for-4 with an RBI in game one at Pace on Tuesday. The third baseman then went 3-for-6 with a home run, four RBI and three runs in the sweep of Staten Island on Friday. Coluccio ended the week going 3-for-8 with two RBI and a double in the sweep of Holy Family on Sunday.
Stevie Dabbadie, Molloy
Junior, P/UTL, Burbank, CA
Dabbadie secured two wins in the circle this past week, throwing 20.2 innings and posting a 3.39 ERA to go along with 11 strikeouts. In the game one 11-2 win over Jefferson, Dabbadie threw all five innings, striking out a total of four batters. The junior threw a complete game at Queens, adding an additional three strikeouts on the week. Dabbadie struck out two batters in 3.2 innings of work at D'Youville to close out the week.
Alyssa Bueno, Molloy
Freshman, INF, South Gate, CA
Bueno posted a .467 batting average this past week with a .467 slugging percentage and .500 on base percentage on seven hits, a walk, and three RBI. In the doubleheader split against Queens, the freshman recorded three hits and a walk, and drove in a run. Against D'Youville, Bueno closed out the week with a total of four hits and two RBI.
Nellie Donahue, Queens
Freshman, RHP, Levittown, NY
In the circle, Donahue made two appearances, including one start, totaling 8.0 innings while allowing five hits, two earned runs, and two walks with six strikeouts. After taking a tough 2–1 loss in the series opener, Donahue returned in relief in game two with the go-ahead run on second base. She retired three straight batters to secure her third win of the season as Queens rallied for a 13–12 walk-off victory.
Olivia Wanser, Queens
Junior, DP, Westbury, NY
In their lone doubleheader of the week, junior Olivia Wanser batted .667 with a .778 on-base percentage and an impressive 1.667 slugging percentage. She totaled two hits, including a home run, drew five walks, scored twice, and drove in five runs. Wanser was walked three times in the series opener before breaking out in the nightcap victory, where she recorded two hits, five RBI, two walks, and two runs scored, highlighted by her team-leading seventh home run of the season.
Kadie Cain, Queens
Junior, 3B, Hauppauge, NY
Junior Kadie Cain shined in their lone doubleheader of the week, batting a team-best .714 with a .778 on-base percentage and a .857 slugging percentage. She collected five hits, including a double, added one walk, drove in two runs, and scored a team-high three times. Cain posted multi-hit performances in both games, including a 3-for-4 effort in the nightcap victory over Molloy.
Kayla Denino, Queens
Freshman, 2B, North Babylon, NY
Rookie Kayla Denino shined in their lone doubleheader of the week, with a .714 batting average, .778 on-base percentage, and .857 slugging percentage. She tallied five hits, including a double, scored once, and drove in two runs. Denino highlighted the day with a career-best performance in the nightcap, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, one run scored, and two RBI.
Elyse Marcano, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior, 2B, Middletown, NY
Marcano collected 10 hits in 19 at-bats for .526 average to help STAC go 5-1 in the week. The senior second baseman also, stroked two doubles and a triple, scored eight runs, drove in three and stole two bases. Elyse also recorded her 200th career hit as a Spartan and sits atop the all-time hits club at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
Trinadey Santiago, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior, 3B, Cheshire, CT
Santiago batted .500 (9-for-18) with two homers and six RBI to help STAC to a 5-1 record on the week. The senior third baseman also scored four runs and hit two doubles.
Sofia Marella, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore, DP, Cranston, RI
Marella batted .429 (9-for-21) with a homer, a double, eight RBI and two runs scored, as STAC won five of six games this week.
