FLUSHING, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference (ECC) Men’s Tennis Championship semifinal was held today at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Second-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas defeated third-seeded District of Columbia, 4-0.
St. Thomas Aquinas advances to face top-seeded Queens College in the ECC Championship Match on Saturday at approximately 7:30 p.m. The match has been moved indoors to Queens College due to expected weather.

St. Thomas Aquinas secured victories in key singles matches to clinch the win. At third singles, Ondrej Sramek defeated Ambrose Evamy 6-3, 6-1. Victor Tauson sealed the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ignacio Fernandez at fifth singles.
Several matches went unfinished after the Spartans clinched the victory. At first singles, Theo Renoux led Sebastiano Palma 6-4, 4-0. Henry Ronnberg held a 6-2, 4-1 advantage over Elouan Queguiner at second singles, while Nagamitsu Kuroda and Filippo Vatteroni were tied in progress at 6-4, 2-4 in fourth singles. St. Thomas Aquinas also earned the point at sixth singles by default.
In doubles play, Sramek and Nathan Yacar defeated Vatteroni and Evamy 6-1. The Spartans secured the doubles point with an additional win at third doubles by default. At second doubles, Ronnberg and Renoux led Palma and Queguiner 4-3 when play was halted.
