Freshman bowler Madilyn Bogovic once again had a strong weekend for the No. 25 Kutztown University bowling team, finishing sixth in a field of 65 bowlers in traditional play while recording key performances to help the team to a fourth-place finish in baker play on at the Northeast Roundup this past weekend. The rookie once again powered the team to success, opening the competition with a team-leading 20.12 pins per frame while filling 82 percent pins per frame. A 9.2 first ball average and a 50 percent strike rate played proved to be pivotal, while her four 200+ pin games helped her to an average of 201.2 pins on the day. Marks of 202, 216 and 212 pins opened the day to anchor big wins over Wagner, Molloy, and Chestnut Hill. The Mechanicsburg, Pa., native didn't let up in baker competition, filling 78.8 percent of frames with a 19.9 pin average while doubling up on a team-high 52.4 percent of baker double attempts (11-of-21). She improved on her numbers in the 10th frame, striking on half of her opportunities while averaging filling well over three-quarters of her frames. She guided the team to a fourth-place finish after an 8-2 weekend in Delaware as the squad ramps up preparations for the upcoming East Coast Conference Championship.

Freshman bowler Isabella Hopper put up a strong outing for the No. 25 Kutztown University bowling team, finishing 12th in a field of 65 bowlers in traditional play while stepping up her play in baker action, helping the team to a fourth-place finish in baker play on at the Northeast Roundup this past weekend. The rookie found early success in the traditional round, opening competition with an 82 percent fill mark and a team-leading 91.3 makeable spare rate (21-of-23). The Mifflinville, Pa., native's 18.52 average helped her achieve a 187.2 pin average, including a day-high 223 game in a 971-717 win over Wagner to open the day. The Berwick High School product turned up the heat in baker play, putting up team highs in average pins per frame (20.08) and fill percentage (82.7 percent) while converting 71 percent of spares. She competed as the setup bowler in 26 frames, following up on nearly 85 percent of spare attempts and making a powerful rookie tandem with Madilyn Bogovic, the team's anchor bowler on the weekend. She guided the team to a fourth-place finish after an 8-2 weekend in Delaware as the squad ramps up preparations for the upcoming East Coast Conference Championship.
