Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week

Jessica Grzelaczyk, Mercy
Freshman | Attack | Seaford, N.Y.

Grzelaczyk had a team-high nine points on five goals and four assists to go with three draw controls and two ground balls in her first two career games as Mercy went 2-0 to start the season. The freshman opened her career with a goal, an assist, one ground ball and one draw control in the win at Georgian Court on Tuesday. Grzelaczyk ended the week with a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists to go with one ground ball and two draw controls in the win at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. 


Defensive Player of the Week

Ashlinn Kelly, Mercy
Sophomore | Midfielder | Farmingdale, N.Y.

Kelly had four caused turnovers with a team-high nine ground balls as Mercy went 2-0 on the week, allowing just 15 goals. The sophomore added five goals and two assists. Kelly opened the season with four goals, one assist, three caused turnovers, five draw controls and three ground balls in the win at Georgian Court on Tuesday. The sophomore ended the week with one goal, one assist, six ground balls, one caused turnover and two draw controls in Mercy's 17-6 win at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday. 


Goalie of the Week

Molly Evans, Daemen
Sophomore | Fulton, N.Y.

Evans allowed just one goal and made three saves in Daemen's 16-1 win over Lake Erie last Thursday. She held the Storm scoreless for the first three quarters of the contest.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Avery Castner, Daemen
Senior | Attack | Penn Yan, N.Y.

Castner tallied a team-leading five points, tying for the team lead in goals (4) while dishing out one assist in Daemen's 16-1 win over Lake Erie. She fired five shots, putting all of them on goal, and also collected one ground ball. Castner scored all four of her goals in the first half to help Daemen establish its large lead. 

Lia MacDougall, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Midfielder | Saugerties, N.Y.
Sophomore Lia MacDougall had the hot hand for Roberts as she led the team offensively in both games to start the season. She finished the week with nine goals and an assist for 10 points including a career-best seven goals and eight points in the season-opening victory at American International. She added four GBs, four CTs and four DCs to her impressive statline for the week.
