Offensive Player of the Week

Archie Murphy, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | Forward | Bourne End, England
Junior Archie Murphy continued his scoring streak with another three goals in two matches last week. He netted a pair of goals in a 3-3 tie with Georgian Court in a midweek match and then scored the first goal of the game in a 3-1 home win over ECC foe D'Youville over the weekend. Murphy is tied for the ECC lead in goals, leads the conference in game-winning goals, and is second on the leaderboard for points.


Defensive Player of the Week

Thanasis Shehadeh, Queens
RS-Sophomore | Goalkeeper | Nicosia, Cyprus
Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Thanasis Shehadeh played a pivotal role in a 2-0 week for the Knights, recording six saves and notching an assist against two regionally ranked foes. In the 2-1 victory over No. 5 East Stroudsburg, Shehadeh made three crucial second-half saves to help preserve the Knights’ lead. On Saturday night, the Cyprus native impacted both ends of the field in a thrilling 3-2 ECC victory over No. 8 Mercy. He recorded three saves before delivering the game-winning assist in the 76th minute, lofting a ball that rookie Bradyn Brown headed home. The Knights’ defense then held Mercy without a shot for the remainder of the match to secure the win.


Rookie of the Week

Bradyn Brown, Queens
Freshman | Forward | Lindenhurst, NY

Rookie forward Bradyn Brown delivered a four-point week for the Knights, scoring two goals in a 2-0 stretch against regionally ranked opponents. In the 2-1 victory over No. 5 East Stroudsburg, Brown netted his fifth goal of the season to level the match at 1-1 in the first half, setting the stage for a dramatic game-winner in the final seconds. On Saturday, the first-year standout struck again—this time with his team-leading sixth goal of the year and first career game-winner—lifting the Knights to a thrilling 3-2 win over No. 8 Mercy.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Miguel Gonzalez Soto, Queens
Junior | Forward | Madrid, Spain

Junior forward Miguel Soto Gonzalez posted a four-point week for the Knights, tallying one goal and two assists in a pair of wins over regionally ranked opponents. In Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over No. 5 East Stroudsburg, Soto Gonzalez registered an assist in each half as Queens rallied past the Warriors. The performance brought his season assist total to six. He continued his strong form on Saturday in a 3-2 comeback win over No. 8 Mercy, where he was a constant offensive threat before netting his fifth goal of the season, bringing his team-high point total to 16.

Eric Jewson, Roberts Wesleyan
Senior | Goalkeeper | Binghamton, NY

Senior Eric Jewson made 13 saves in two games last week to help Roberts remain undefeated with a win and a tie. He made six saves in a 3-3 tie with Georgian Court in a midweek match and then stopped seven shots in a 3-1 victory over ECC foe D’Youville on Saturday. 

Peterson Larose, Staten Island
Sophomore | Midfielder | Brooklyn, NY

Tallied three points in the week, each of them having a hand in forcing the draw with Dominican (N.Y.) and Molloy University. On the 24th versus Dominican, Larose capitalized on a corner kick opportunity, finding a Dolphin foot for the equalizer late in the second half. On Saturday, he tallied the PK goal for the 1-1 draw with the Lions. 

Dante Muntane, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | Goalkeeper | Rosario, Argentina

Muntane successfully secured this third clean sheet of the season by turning aside all four shots faced in a 3-0 home victory over UDC last weekend.
