ECC Women's Lacrosse Report - Week Five

Offensive Player of the Week

Hailey Galison, St. Thomas Aquinas
Graduate Student | M | Wantagh, NY

Galison dropped 17 points on 14 goals and three assists in St. Thomas Aquinas’ 1-1 week against Virginia State (L, 21-7) and Chowan (W, 21-14). The STAC graduate student midfielder also recorded 27 shots (22 on goal), 21 draw controls, nine ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.


Defensive Player of the Week

Brinn Stworzydlak, D’Youville
Senior | GK | Hamburg, NY

Stworzydlak went 2-1 in the cage this past week, making 29 saves. In D’Youville’s 12-10 win over Franklin Pierce, the Saints’ senior goalkeeper made 12 saves.


Rookie of the Week

BreeLynn LaLonde, D’Youville
Freshman | D | Theresa, NY

LaLonde helped the Saints go 2-1 on the week, grabbing four ground balls, causing four turnovers, and winning five draw controls. Helping the Saints earn possession to score six unanswered goals against Franklin Pierce to win the game, LaLonde won five draw controls during that span. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Cameron Briggs, Daemen
Senior | M | Buffalo, NY

Briggs tallied five goals, one assists, seven ground balls, three caused turnovers and 10 draw controls over two games. The Daemen senior midfielder notched three goals, six ground balls, two caused turnovers, and six draw controls against Ashland and followed up with three points on two goals and one assist, one ground ball, one caused turnover, and four draw controls at Gannon.

Madison Buck, D’Youville
Junior | A | Rochester, NY

Buck helped the Saints go 2-1 on the week, scoring seven goals while adding three assists. In the team's 21-5 win over American International, Buck scored six times while adding two assists.

Katelyn Cerrato, St. Thomas Aquinas
Graduate Student | M | Mohegan Lake, NY

Cerrato tallied eight points on six goals and two assists in St. Thomas Aquinas’ 1-1 week against Virginia State (L, 21-7) and Chowan (W, 21-14). The STAC graduate student midfielder also posted 21 shots (18 on goal), 10 draw controls, three ground balls, and five caused turnovers.

Madison Handley, D’Youville
Junior | A | Lancaster, NY

Handley helped the Saints go 2-1 on the week, scoring 13 goals while adding three assists. In the team's dominate 21-5 win over American International, Handley had seven goals while adding two assists. In the team's come-from-behind win over Franklin Pierce where DYU scored six unanswered goals to win, Handley notched four goals while adding one assist.

Michelle Mitchell, District of Columbia
Senior | D |  Mechanicsville, MD

Mitchell posted three points on two goals and an assist in the Firebirds’ loss to Davis & Elkins. She also won three draw controls and picked up two ground balls. 

Lauren Parker, D’Youville
Junior | D/M | Syracuse, NY

Parker played a pivotal role in the Saints going 2-1 on the week, making 24 draw controls. In the team's 21-5 win over American International, Parker won 12 draw controls and set a new program record for draw controls won in a game. In the team's 12-10 win over Franklin Pierce, Parker won seven draw controls and set the new career record for draw controls won with 138.

Brenna Signorelli, Molloy
Senior | M | Massapequa, NY

Signorelli netted a career-high five goals in Molloy's lone contest on the week to go with three ground balls.

Emma Taylor, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | D | Spencerport, NY

Taylor had a solid defensive week for Roberts Wesleyan in a pair of non-conference games. She totaled 18 draw controls with nine in each game and added three ground balls and a caused turnover. In addition, she moved forward to record two goals and two assists on offense.

Kadie Tierney, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | M | Marcellus, NY

Tierney led the Roberts Wesleyan offense last week in a pair of close losses in non-conference play. She finished with five goals in the games against Adelphi and Assumption and added five ground balls, a draw control, and a caused turnover.
