COLONIA, NJ – The East Coast Conference (ECC) women’s lacrosse championship game is set, as top-seeded Mercy University will host second-seeded Roberts Wesleyan University on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Both teams earned decisive semifinal victories on Wednesday. Mercy defeated fourth-seeded D’Youville University, 27–9, while Roberts Wesleyan topped third-seeded Daemen University, 15–9.
#1 Mercy 27, #4 D’Youville 9
D’Youville jumped out to a 2–0 lead, but Mercy responded with three straight goals to take a 3–2 advantage with 9:46 remaining in the first quarter. After the game was tied at 4–4, the Mavericks scored five of the next six goals to build a 9–5 lead.
The Saints stayed within striking distance, cutting the deficit to 10–8 with 6:05 left in the second quarter. However, Mercy took control from there, going on a 13–goal run to extend the lead to 23–8 early in the fourth. The Mavericks closed the game with four consecutive goals to seal the 27–9 victory.
Jessica Grzelaczyk led Mercy with 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists).
Ava Franco added eight points (4 goals, 4 assists), while
Kayden Meyer scored six goals. Goalkeeper
Olivia LaMonica made seven saves.

#2 Roberts Wesleyan 15, #3 Daemen 9
Roberts Wesleyan scored five of the first six goals to take a 5–1 lead with 10:04 remaining in the second quarter. The Redhawks carried an 8–4 advantage into halftime.
Daemen closed within two goals at 9–7 late in the third quarter, but Roberts Wesleyan responded with six unanswered goals to extend the lead to 15–7. The Wildcats scored the final two goals of the game to make the final score 15–9.
Lia MacDougall led the Redhawks with seven points (6 goals, 1 assist).
Kadie Tierney added six points (3 goals, 3 assists), while
Brookie Guelli contributed five points (3 goals, 2 assists). Goalkeeper
Josella Harrison made 11 saves.
Ella Bouley led Daemen with three points (2 goals, 1 assist).
