ECC Women's Bowling Report - Week Eight

Bowler of the Week

Olivia Hillman, Bryant 
Senior | Attleboro, Mass.

Hillman posted a strong weekend at the Garden State Classic, helping the Bulldogs achieve a second-place finish with an 8-5 record. The Bryant senior finished third overall individually, earning an All-Tournament Team spot with a 207 average. Hillman also had a Baker average of 19.69, which was crucial in catching wins against nationally-ranked programs Fairleigh Dickinson and Felician. Hillman topped all ECC bowlers last week with an overall average of 20.15. 


Rookie of the Week

Madison Lewis, Bryant
Freshman | Freehold, N.J.

Lewis had a solid weekend at her home bowling center for the Garden State Classic in Howell, N.J. The freshman finished ninth overall individually, averaging 201.33 for six traditional games with a high game of 244. Lewis also helped the team achieve a second-place finish overall, catching wins against nationally-ranked programs Fairleigh Dickinson and Felician. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Abigail Barnard, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | Irondequoit, N.Y.

At the Hilbert Hammer Classic, Barnard averaged 18.82 per frame in team games with an 86.0 percent overall fill rate, converting 77.4 percent of her spares and striking on 38.0 percent of attempts. In Baker games, she averaged 18.89 per frame with an 87.5 percent overall fill rate, converting 80.6 percent of her spares and striking on 35.4 percent of attempts. Barnard also made the All-Tournament Team, placing fifth out of 61 competitors.

Marissa Funk, Adelphi
Freshman | Boardman, Ohio

Funk bowled an average of 183 at the Garden State Classic, with a high-game of 236. The Adelphi freshman was Adelphi’s best strike thrower, earning a 50.0 percent strike rate in traditional play and a 46.2 percent in Baker. Funk had a 90 percent overall fill percentage in 50 frames of traditional play.

Sabrina Palmer, Daemen
Junior | Waterloo, N.Y.

Palmer led the way for the Wildcats at the Hilbert Hammer Classic, placing third out of 61 bowlers with an average score of 192.20. The Daemen junior placed ahead of all bowlers from ECC opponents Roberts Wesleyan and D'Youville and logged two matches with scores over 200, with a 211 against Saint Vincent and a 224 against Roberts Wesleyan. Palmer helped Daemen earn an 853-840 win over Hilbert and a 1016-927 victory over ECC foe Roberts Wesleyan. She also helped the Wildcats break the 1,000 mark for the first time since November 24, 2024. On the second day of the tournament, Palmer helped Daemen claim wins over William Smith and ECC foe D'Youville. Palmer was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts.

Rebecca Spry, Roberts Welseyan
Junior | Newark, N.Y.

On day two of the Hilbert Hammer Classic in the Baker event, Spry led Roberts Wesleyan in overall performance, averaging 19.33 per frame, converting 80.6 percent of her spares, and striking on 35.4 percent of her attempts.

Carly Wu, Adelphi
Senior | Flushing, N.Y.

Wu was Adelphi's high finisher at the Garden State Classic, finishing 19th with a 183 average. The Adelphi senior had a 8.49 first ball average in traditional play an 8.83 in Baker. Wu was the team's leader in first ball 9+ in Baker play with a 67.9 percent clip. Combined between traditional and Baker play, Wu knocked down 25 of 28 single pin spare attempts.
