Bowler and Rookie of the Week

Madilyn Bogovic, Kutztown
Freshman | Mechanicsburg, Pa. 

She finished as the top bowler for No. 23 Kutztown in their fifth-place outing at the Griffin Baker Classic this weekend, averaging 20.38 pins per baker frame on an 82.9 percent fill clip while bowling in the anchor role in the two-day event. She averaged 9.1 pins on her first ball for an 80 percent success rate and also struck on a team high 48.8 percent of attempts, while converting on 77.8 percent of makeable spares. She averaged shy of 21 pins per frame in the anchor role, filling 84.4 percent in the final frame and doubling up on nearly a third of attempts. Bogovic helped the Golden Bears to a 4-3 finish, winning the last four matches of the tournament to finish fifth out of 13 competing teams.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Marissa Funk, Adelphi
Freshman | Boardman, Ohio

Funk had the best tournament of her young career. The freshman averaged 19.89 pins per frame while also recording an 85% fill percentage and an 8.93 first ball average. Funk knocked down 71% of her spare opportunities and took care of her single-pin spare chances at a 95% clip. She was on fire in the tenth frame as the team's anchor bowler, averaging 20.18 pins in the frame while tallying an 85% fill percentage, 60% strike percentage and 30% double-strike percentage.

Giana Giampapa, Adelphi
Senor | Douglaston, N.Y.

Giampapa averaged a 17.62 pins per frame rate and was second on the team in strike rate with 42% at the Griffin Baker Classic over the weekend.

Tiffany Wong, Adelphi
Senior | Valley Stream, N.Y.

Wong impressed at the Griffin Baker Classic, averaging 18.11 pins per frame and earning a fill percentage of 76.3%. She converted on 81.3% of her single-pin spare chances.

Sydney Snyder, Kutztown
Senior | Morrisville, Pa.

She finished as the second-best bowler for No. 23 Kutztown in their fifth-place outing at the Griffin Baker Classic this weekend, 19.85 pins per baker frame on a team-high 84.1 fill clip while bowling primarily from the leadoff spot in the two-day event. Snyder converted spares at a 71.1 percent rate, making 83.3 percent of makeable second tries and 88.2 single pin tries, all best on the team. She also filled 79.4 percent of leadoff frames, striking on 38.2 percent of 34 attempts. Snyder helped the Golden Bears to a 4-3 finish, winning the last four matches of the tournament to finish fifth out of 13 competing teams.
