ECC Women's Volleyball Report - Week Five

Player of the Week

Mia Illes-Hair, Mercy
Junior | Middle Blocker | Lake Worth, FL

Illes-Hair had 20 kills on .586 hitting with a team-high eight blocks as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with nine kills on .467 hitting with four blocks in the win at STAC on Wednesday. The middle blocker ended the week with 11 kills on .714 hitting with four blocks and one dig in the win over Franklin Pierce on Friday. 


Defensive Player of the Week

Grace Dilena, Mercy
Sophomore | Outside Hitter | New York, NY
Dilena had a team-high 24 kills and 18 digs with two aces and one block as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with 11 kills, nine digs, and one ace in the win over STAC on Wednesday. The outside hitter ended the week with a match-high 13 kills and nine digs with one ace in the win over Franklin Pierce on Friday. 


Setter of the Week

Adriana Rivera Rodriguez, Mercy
Junior | Setter | Humacao, Puerto Rico
Rivera Rodriguez had a team-high 60 assists and 10.00 assists per set with 14 digs, five blocks, four aces, and four kills as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with a match-high 29 assists with seven digs, two blocks, two aces, and one kill in the win at STAC on Wednesday. The setter ended the week with a match-high 31 assists with seven digs, three blocks, two aces, and three kills in the win over Franklin Pierce on Friday. 


Rookie of the Week

Haven Trechter, Molloy
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Windsor, CA

Trechter averaged three kills per set in a 1-1 week for Molloy. The freshman reached double-digit kills in both contests, putting up a game-high 11 kills in a 3-0 victory over Queens before adding 10 against Southern Connecticut. The California native also averaged over two digs per set on the week to go with two service aces and a block.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Aria Miller, Molloy
Senior | Libero | Miliani, Hawaii

Miller continued to be a reliable presence at libero for the Lions, averaging 4.57 digs per set in a 1-1 week for Molloy. The senior put up 16 assists against both Queens and Southern Connecticut State, while adding a season-high five service aces against the Knights.

Keira Mullen, Daemen
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Farmingdale, NJ

Mullen logged 23 kills in two games last week, averaging 3.29 K/S and helping Daemen go 1-1, including an ECC win over DYU.  She also recorded five digs and four blocks in the games. Mullen posted 17 kills on 34 attempts with a .235 hitting percentage in the Wildcats' win over D'Youville on Wednesday. She also posted two block assists and 18 points total. Against AIC on Saturday, Mullen added six kills and was active at the net with two block assists, contributing a total of seven points.

Erin Stanley, Molloy
Junior | Outside Hitter | Massapequa Park, NY

Stanley led the Lions offense with 26 kills in a 1-1 week. The junior averaged 3.71 kills per set, reaching double digits in both contests with 10 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Queens in conference play before setting a career-high 16 kills against Southern Connecticut State. The outside hitter also added three blocks during the week. 

Cameron Ulinski, D’Youville
Sophomore | Outside Hitter | Parkland, FL
Outside hitter Cameron Ulinski had a standout week on both sides of the ball for D’Youville. Ulinski totaled 29 kills and 31 digs across two matches, including a dominant all-around performance in the five-set thriller against American International, where she notched 16 kills, 20 digs, and three aces. She added 13 kills and 11 digs in the midweek match at Daemen, continuing to be the Saints’ spark on offense while anchoring serve receive and back-row defense and playing the full match in both matches.

Julia Zalta, Molloy
Graduate Student | Setter | Great Neck, NY

Zalta averaged 7.00 assists per set this week for the Lions, topping 20 in both of Molloy's contests on the week. On top of her role as a facilitator, Zalta also averaged over two kills per set. The graduate student had a double-double against Southern Connecticut with 13 kills and 26 assists and added six digs. In conference play, she had 23 assists to go with two blocks and three kills against Queens.
