ECC Women's Volleyball Report - Week Four

Player of the Week

Kylynn White, Queens
Freshman | Setter | Chicago, IL

Setter Kylynn White continues to impress in her rookie campaign, posting 35 kills, 33 assists, 26 digs, and four service aces across a three-match week, while recording two double-doubles. In a four-set match against AIC on Wednesday evening, White notched her fourth double-double of the season with 17 kills on a career-best .438 hitting percentage, along with 13 assists, nine digs, and three service aces. She capped off the week on Sunday against Daemen, tallying her fifth career double-double with 14 assists, 12 digs, and seven kills.


Defensive Player of the Week

Cameron Ulinski, D’Youville
Sophomore | Outside Hitter | Parkland, FL
Cameron Ulinski opened the two-match stretch with 6 digs and 3 blocks in the sweep of Queens, then elevated her game against Molloy with a team-high 19 digs and 4 total blocks in a five-set battle. Across both contests, Ulinski racked up 25 digs and 7 blocks, showing the ability to protect the floor in the back row while also controlling the net at the front.


Setter of the Week

Alina Bertens Deckart, D’Youville
Junior | Setter | Santiago de Chile, Chile

Aline Bertens-Deckart was the driving force behind D’Youville’s offense this past weekend, as always showing her ability to run the floor with poise and consistency. In the sweep over Queens, she dished out 27 assists while also adding 5 digs and an ace to guide the Saints to an efficient .275 hitting percentage. She followed that up with a standout performance against Molloy, recording 47 assists and 10 digs for a double-double, along with 2 service aces. Across the two matches, Bertens-Deckart totaled 74 assists, 15 digs, and 3 aces, proving to be the steady hand that allowed the Saints’ hitters to thrive while also contributing in the back row and from the service line.


Rookie of the Week

Keira Mullen, Daemen
Freshman | Outside Hitter | Farmingdale, NJ

Mullen logged 24 kills, averaging 3.43 K/S while posting a team-best .367 hitting percentage in two matches. She also recorded 26 points, five digs, and three blocks. Mullen was outstanding for the Wildcats in their win on Sunday, totaling 11 kills with just one error on 19 attacks for a team-high .526 hitting percentage. She also led the team offensively on Saturday with 13 kills on 30 attacks for a .267 clip while adding two total blocks – one solo.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Grace Dilena, Mercy
Sophomore | Outside Hitter | New York, NY

Dilena had a team-high 28 kills, 4.00 kills per set, and three aces on .269 hitting with 15 digs and three blocks as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with six kills and eight digs at Adelphi on Tuesday. The outside hitter ended the week with a match-high 22 kills on .364 hitting with seven digs, three aces, three blocks, and two assists in the 3-1 win at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday.

Teresa Moulder, Molloy
Senior | Middle Blocker | Wantagh, NY
Moulder led the Lions with seven blocks, totaling three at Daemen and four at D'Youville, to help the Lions to a 2-0 record on the week. The middle blocker also added 18 kills, attacking at a clip of nearly .400, reaching double digits with 11 in the match at Daemen. 

Isabella Rios, Molloy
Sophomore | Outside Hitter | Weston, FL

Rios had a stat line of 26 digs, 22 kills, four assists, one ace, and one block in a 2-0 week for Molloy. The sophomore put up back-to-back double-doubles, totaling 11 kills with a team-leading 16 digs at Daemen before adding 11 kills and 10 digs at D'Youville. 

Adriana Rivera Rodriguez, Mercy
Junior | Setter | Humacao, Puerto Rico

Rivera Rodriguez had a team-high 58 assists, 8.29 assists per set, and 20 digs to go with three kills and four blocks as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The junior opened the week with 20 assists and seven digs to go with two blocks at Adelphi on Tuesday. The setter ended the week with a match-high 38 assists and 13 digs to go with three kills and two blocks in the 3-1 win at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday.

Julia Zalta, Molloy
Graduate Student | Setter | Great Neck, NY
Zalta was effective on all sides of the ball in a 2-0 week for the Lions. The graduate student totaled 40 assists, 33 digs, 17 kills, six blocks, and four aces over the week. The setter tallied her first career triple-double with 19 assists, 13 kills, and 10 digs at Daemen. Zalta ended the week with a career-high 23 digs at D'Youville, adding 21 assists for a double-double to go with four kills, four blocks, and four aces.
