Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Ryan Pettrow, Georgian Court
Sophomore | Jackson, NJ

Pettrow won the mile in a field of 22 at the Marlin Invitational, clocking a 4:31.59. 


Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Nishorn Pierre, Holy Family
Senior | Jumps | Grenada

Pierre won two golds with NCAA provisional marks at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday. The HFU standout first won the triple jump, topping a field of 19 with a mark of 15.01m, before going on to clear 2.12m in the high jump to defeat 21 others and move into the top spot in the NCAA East Region as well as 11th across NCAA Division II.


Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Iyanna Jackson, District of Columbia
Senior | Kingston, JA

Jackson recorded the two fastest 60m times in the ECC this season at the VMI Winter Relays. In the preliminaries, she clocked in at an NCAA provisional mark of 7.63, which also stands at UDC’s new school record in the event and ranks second in the NCAA East Region. In the final, she dropped a 7.68 to place second in the field of 34. She also clocked 26.33 in the 200m.


Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Zoe Shaw, District of Columbia
Junior | Kingston, JA

Shaw recorded a season-best mark in the triple jump with an 11.62m at the VMI Winter Relays, good for second in a field of 11. That mark tops the ECC and ranks second in the NCAA East Region. The UDC junior added a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.20m, which ranks sixth in the ECC to date. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Men's
Jayden Bennermon, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Jumps | Poughkeepsie, NY

Bennermon hit an NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump with a leap of 14.58m (47’ 10”) to place second in a field of 16 at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday. That mark ranks third in the ECC, fourth in the NCAA East Region, and 38th across all of NCAA Division II. 

Zachary Hall, Roberts Wesleyan
Senior | Middle Distance | Oakfield, NY

Hall pulled away in the final lap and won the mile at the RIT Thursday Night Meet last week with a time of 4:36.21. The converted time of 4:32.73 ranks eighth in the ECC. 

Calvin Lill, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman | Jumps | Webster, NY

Lill finished first in a field of 16 competitors in the high jump (1.92m) and placed third out of 14 in the long jump (6.44m) at the RIT Thursday Night Meet.

Mark Linton, Georgian Court
Sophomore | Throws | Orange Bay, Jamaica

Linton set two PRs with a pair of second-place finishes at the Marlin Invitational, in the weight throw (49’ 10”, field of 15) and shot put (48’ 4 3/4”, field of 28). His weight throw is good for fifth in the ECC, while his shot put sits sixth.

Ernest Robertson, Holy Family
Junior | Jumps | Miami, FL

Robertson took bronze in the triple jump for the second week in a row, landing at 14.00m to place third in the field of 19 at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday. 

Jack Sauder, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Pole Vault | Clarendon Hills, IL

Sauder placed first in the pole vault at the RIT Thursday Night Meet as he cleared 4.75m (15' 7"). The RWU sophomore was first out of 16 jumpers and currently ranks second in the ECC standings, behind teammate Austin Melvin.

JoJo Smith, Holy Family
Senior | Hurdles | Kingston, Jamaica

Smith placed fourth in his 60m hurdles heat with a time of 8.61 to place 15th in the field of 34 at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday. That time ranks fourth in the ECC and 11th in the NCAA East Region. 

Micah Walker, Holy Family
Sophomore | Throws | Mays Landing, NJ

Walker posted a pair of top-four finishes at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday, highlighted by bronze in a field of 15 in the College Division of the weight throw with a mark of 14.72m. The HFU sophomore also placed fourth out of 13 in the College Division of the shot put with a collegiate PR of 13.35m.

Camryn Bailey, Daemen
Graduate Student | Distance | Geneva, NY

At the YSU Mid Major Invitational, Bailey turned in the second-fastest 3000m (10:34.04) and third-fastest 1000m (3:07.92) performances in the ECC this season. Bailey placed fifth out of 12 in the 1000m and sixth out of 38 in the 3000m, both career-best times for the Daemen graduate student. The 3000m performance also sits fifth in the NCAA East Region. 

Nicole Gysin, St. Thomas Aquinas
Graduate Student | Hurdles/Jumps | Waldwick, NJ

Gysin placed fifth in the pentathlon at the Scarlet Knight Open with a STAC program-record point total of 2,473, placing third in the high jump (1.49m), sixth in the in the 60m hurdles (9.83, 10th in ECC), long jump (4.45m), and 800m (3:05.06), and eighth in the shot put (7.75m). Gysin is one of two ECC student-athlete and seven NCAA East Region student-athletes to complete a pentathlon this season. 

Ocelia Jones, Holy Family
Sophomore | Hurdles | Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica

At the Scarlet Knight Open, Jones dropped an 8.95 in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles to become the only Division II sprinter to advance to the Division I-filled seven-person final, qualifying alongside juniors and seniors from Columbia, Monmouth, Rider, Sacred Heart, and host-school Rutgers. Jones edged out Division I runners in Guerlande Pierre of Monmouth (9.18), Ariyana Jackson of Sacred Heart (9.22), and Sophia Filali of Vermont (9.37) to qualify for the final. She then came back to record a collegiate-best 8.90 in the final to finish seventh overall. The ECC’s only recorded sub-9.00 time of the season, her 8.90 also ranks fourth in the NCAA East Region.

Emmanuela Katou Kouami, District of Columbia
Junior | Bronx, NY

Kouami hit another school record and ECC-best mark in the weight throw with a mark of 15.90m to place fourth out of 27 at the VMI Winter Relays. This mark is good for third in the East Region. She also placed 10th out of 31 in the shot put with a mark of 10.78m

Carly Koprowski, Queens
Sophomore | Distance | Wantagh, NY

Competing in her second meet for Queens at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday, Koprowski placed third out of 38 competitors in the 800m with a career-best time of 2:17.96. The performance ranks second in the ECC and third in the NCAA East Region. 

Karis Kraf, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman | Pole Vault | Tampa, FL

Kraf led a group of three Roberts Wesleyan pole vaulters to the top three spots in the standings at the RIT Thursday Night Meet as she cleared 3.60m (11' 9 3/4”) to win the event out of 11 jumpers. 

Kylee Odell, Roberts Wesleyan
Graduate Student | Middle Distance | Panama, NY 

Odell raced to a school-record mile time of 4:57.04 at the Terrier Invitational Meet. The RWU graduate student finished 77th overall in a field of 206 runners that included a majority of professional and Division I runners. Her time ranks first in the latest ECC standings and second in the NCAA East Region. 

Kristen Oliver, Daemen
Sophomore | Throws | Massena, NY

In the Elite Division of the weight throw at the YSU Mid Major Invitational, Oliver posted a season-best mark of 15.44 to place sixth in a field of 12; that distance ranks second in the ECC this season and fourth in the NCAA East Region. The Daemen sophomore also placed seventh in a field of 48 throwers in the Open Division of the shot put with a mark of 10.44m.    

Madelyn Rutledge, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman | Jumps | Medina, NY

Rutledge placed first overall in the triple jump at the Thursday Night Meet at RIT. Her final distance of 10.97m (36' 0") was the top mark out of 16 jumpers at the event.

Sydonia Turner, Holy Family
Junior | High Jump | Philadelphia, PA

Turner tied her own school record in the high jump for the second time in three weeks, clearing 1.60m to place fourth out of 27 at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday. That height ranks both second in the ECC and the NCAA East Region. 

Jahtivya Williams, Holy Family
Junior | Sprints | British Virgin Islands

Williams posted the eighth-fastest time, 7.85, out of 35 entries to qualify for the 60m finals at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday. In the final, the HFU junior crossed in fifth with a time of 7.79 that now ranks fourth in the ECC. 

Chiamaka Wokocha, Georgian Court
Sophomore | Throws | Galloway, NJ

Wokocha finished fifth in a weight throw field of 21 at the Marlin Invitational, tossing for 42’ 9 3/4”.
