No. 5 Molloy Men's Lacrosse Earns 15-14 OT North Regional Win, Moves on to NCAA Championship Quarterfinals

PLEASANTVILLY, NY – The men's lacrosse team topped the Setters of Pace, 15-14 in overtime this afternoon from Northwell Stadium in the First Round of the NCAA Tournnt. Molloy, who improved to 16-4 on the season, will advance to the National Quarterfinal at Adelphi on Sunday (May 11). Pace ends 2025 with an 11-5 record.

How it Happened
  • The Lions quickly got on the board with a goal from junior Brian Green in the first minute of play. Junior Thomas Kofod quickly followed two minutes later with a goal of his own.
  • The Setters took the lead after scoring three goals in the span of four minutes.
  • Junior Tommy Corcoron tied the contest before Green's second of the game put the Lions ahead, 4-3, with six minutes left in the first quarter.
  • Pace scored twice in the final minute of play to lead 5-4 after 15 minutes.
  • The home team's run bled into the second quarter with three more goals.
  • Molloy's offense turned in on in the final seven minutes of the half. Senior Bryan Diliberto started the run before goals from senior Noah Taylor and Mike D'Amato paired with a man-up goal from freshman Jacob Faison tied the game at the break.
  • Diliberto opened the third quarter with another man-up goal to give the Lions a lead.
  • The Setters responded with two goals in less than a minute to retake the lead.
  • D'Amato scored his second of the game to kick off a three-goal run that would put Molloy in front 12-10 to end the quarter.
  •  The run continued into the fourth quarter with goals from juniors Justin Palulis and Jake Taylor to make it 14-10 with 11 minutes to play.
  •  Pace used the final minutes to work the score back, including scoring three times in the final minute of play to force overtime.
  • Kofod picked up the ground ball off the overtime face-off. Shots from both Green and Taylor went wide before Corcoron's goal won the game for the Lions.
Top Performances
  • Green topped the squad with five points on three goals and two assist.
  • Corcoron netted a hat trick and added an assist for four points.
  • Diliberto (two goals, one assist) and Noah Taylor (one goal, two assists) had three points.
  • D'Amato's two goals and senior Luke Hickam's two assists followed with Palulis, Faison, Kofod, and Jake Taylor added goals.
  • Kofod also added a game-leading eight ground balls.
  • Hickam and junior Shawn McCabe both picked up four.
  • Jake Taylor and juniors Brandon Pazienza and Eric Schiller, freshman Aiden Dinnigan, and senior Dre Alexis each had three with Pazienza going 10-of-23 on face-offs.
  • Dinnigan led with three caused turnovers with Schiller adding two.
  • Senior Christian Michaels made 10 stops in net.
