Defensive Player of the Week

Thomas Kofod, Molloy
Sophomore | Long Stick Midfielder/Defenseman | Seaford, N.Y.
Since returning to Molloy's lineup, Kofod has made an immediate impact on the defensive half of the field. In a 2-0 week for the Lions, the defenseman has been a ground ball machine, picking up five in a 13-8 non-conference win over Georgian Court and matching a season-high seven in a 19-6 conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas. The sophomore also forced three turnovers on the week and added an assist against GCU.

Christopher Bergersen, Mercy
Freshman | Attackman | Farmingdale, N.Y.
Bergersen had two goals, an assist, and three ground balls in #6 Mercy's 18-16 win over #12 Mercyhurst on Sunday.

ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Chase Buckwalter, Frostburg State
Graduate Student | Midfielder | Westminster, Md.
Buckwalter scored eight goals and had an assist in Frostburg State’s victories this week. The graduate student scored five goals in a 17-9 upset win over #14 Seton Hill before adding a hat trick in the 14-10 conference win against D'Youville.

Andrew Calabria, Mercy
Senior | Midfielder | Ronkonkoma, N.Y.
Calabria had a game-high six points on four goals and two assists in #6 Mercy's 18-16 non-conference win over #12 Mercyhurst on Sunday. 

Chris Delaney, Molloy
Senior | Attackman | West Islip, N.Y.
The offense ran through Delaney in a 2-0 week for Molloy as the senior attackman tallied nine points on three goals and six assists. The senior put up a goal and an assist in a 13-8 non-conference win over Georgian Court before having an explosive seven-point afternoon on two goals and five assists in a 19-6 conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas. On the week, Delaney also picked up seven ground balls. 

Evan Dere, Frostburg State
Graduate Student | Midfielder | San Francisco, Calif.
Fere helped lead defensive effort in two wins this week, causing three total turnovers and picking up five ground balls. In a 17-9 upset win over #14 Seton Hill in non-conference action, Dere caused one turnover and picked up a season-high four ground balls. He followed up with a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball in a 14-10 conference win over D'Youville, also winning 3-of-4 face-offs, the first ones he took on the season.

Damiano Ferrara, Mercy
Senior | Short Stick Defensive Midfielder | Hackettstown, N.J.
Ferrara had a game-high-tying three caused turnovers with two assists and one ground ball in #6 Mercy's 18-16 win over #12 Mercyhurst on Sunday. 

Jason Kuehner, Mercy
Senior | Face-Off Specialist | Hackettstown, N.J.
Kuehner went 26-of-34 on face-offs with a game-high 15 ground balls as No. 6 Mercy earned an 18-16 win over #12 Mercyhurst on Sunday. The senior recorded his 500th career face-off win in the victory. 

Brady Kustra, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Defenseman | Buffalo, N.Y.
Kustra had five caused turnovers and three ground balls in a 24-5 conference win over UDC on Saturday. The sophomore defenseman also added one assist. 

Gunner MacMillan, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | Attackman | Henrietta, N.Y. 
MacMillan scored eight goals, including the 100th of his career, and added one assist in a 24-5 conference win over UDC on Saturday. 

Christian Michaels, Molloy
Junior | Goalkeeper | Smithtown, N.Y.
Michaels had a .630 save percentage on the week, averaging a 6.14 GAA with two wins. The junior made 17 saves, including 12 in a full-game effort in a 13-8 non-conference win over Georgian Court.

Brandon Pazienza, Molloy
Sophomore | Face-Off Specialist | Holtsville, N.Y.
Pazienza was nearly automatic at the face-off dot, going 26-of-39 on the week. The sophomore picked up 11 ground balls after winning 14 face-offs to go with an assist in a 19-6 conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas. He also added nine ground balls with 12 face-off wins in a 13-8 non-conference win over Georgian Court. 

Logan Schwartz, D’Youville
Sophomore | Defenseman | Depew, N.Y.
Schwartz recorded five ground balls and five caused turnovers in the 14-10 conference loss against #16 Frostburg State. 

Nick Sholett, D’Youville
Sophomore | Midfielder | Vestal, N.Y.
Sholett put up a career-high six goals against #16 Frostburg State on Saturday along with one assist to give him seven points in the 14-10 conference loss. 

Najee Wilson, District of Columbia
Senior | Goalkeeper | Bloomfield Conn.
Wilson made a game-high 28 saves in the Firebirds’ 24-5 conference loss against Roberts Wesleyan. The UDC senior goalkeeper also forced a turnover.
