WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference are battling it out for regional supremacy on the lacrosse field. Three teams from each league will square off in the ECC-Great Midwest Lacrosse Challenge Cup event throughout the spring.
The 2024 season marks the fifth year of the challenge, with the Great Midwest taking the cups in 2021 and 2023 and the East Coast Conference securing the titles in 2019 and 2022.
One match-up has already taken place with Lake Erie taking home a 22-7 win over D'Youville on February 28. Malone will host Frostburg State this Saturday, March 9 while Mercy will host Mercyhurst on Sunday, April 21.
Mercy is currently ranked No. 9 in all three major polls, followed by Frostburg State at No. 17. Mercyhurst sits No. 14 in this week's USILA/Blatant Lacrosse Top 20 Coaches Poll.
