COLONIA, NJ – Men’s and women’s soccer league play has arrived in the East Coast Conference, and the ECC is pleased to introduce its newest initiative: ECC Game of the Week.
For each ECC sport in its conference portion of the season, the league office will determine an ECC Game of the Week to highlight the competitive spirit within the East Coast Conference.

Men’s Soccer
Roberts Wesleyan at Queens – Saturday, September 19
The Rematch! In a rematch of last year’s ECC Championship Final, the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan travel to face the Knights of Queens this Saturday at Varsity Soccer Field in Flushing, N.Y. with kickoff set for noon. Queens (4-1-1) sits in a tie for first place on the ECC standings, most recently defeating Georgian Court, 3-1 on Saturday night at home. The Knights are winners in their last three, having outscored their opposition 12-2 in the trio of matches. Roberts Wesleyan (1-2-2) enters the week in a sixth-place tie on the standings and have earned draws in consecutive games, posting a 1-1 final at Slippery Rock on September 9 and playing to a 3-3 stalemate versus Goldey-Beacon this past Saturday at home. Through six matches, Queens has recorded 16 goals, averaging 2.67 goals per contest while registering 15.5 shots per match, all of which leads the ECC. The Knights are led by senior forward Keithlend Cesar who has 11 points on four goals and three assists, while senior forward Tommy Gunn has eight points behind three goals and a pair of assists. Roberts Wesleyan ranks third in goals scored (8) and third in opponent scoring average (1.80). Senior goalkeeper Juan Daniel Espinosa Rubio has played all 450:00 in net this season for the Redhawks, making 24 saves, while only conceding nine goals for a goals against average of 1.80 and a save percentage of 0.727. Offensively, senior forward Archie Murphy is the team leader with seven points by way of three goals and one assist. Both squads will clash with CACC opponents today ahead of Saturday’s ECC opener, with the Redhawks visiting Georgian Court at 3:00 p.m. and the Knights welcoming Wilmington at 7:00 p.m.
Women’s Soccer
Roberts Wesleyan at Queens – Saturday, September 19
Battle at the Top! Conference play in ECC women’s soccer will commence with a matchup between top ranked and defending ECC champions, Roberts Wesleyan visiting second place Queens on Saturday at Varsity Soccer Field in Flushing, N.Y. at 2:30 p.m. Roberts Wesleyan (4-0-3) is the lone unbeaten squad in the ECC following a 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday. The Redhawks have not been defeated since October 1, 2025, going 11-0-7 over that timeframe. Last time out for Queens (4-2-0), the Knights took down Dominican New York, 2-0 at home on Saturday. Roberts Wesleyan is the top defensive unit in the ECC, having only allowed six goals in seven matches for a conference-best 0.86 goals against average, while on the offensive side of the pitch, the team ranks second in the ECC in goals scored with a total of 12 tallies. Junior forward Samantha Cipolla leads the Redhawks and the ECC in points with 13 scored on the season, logging five goals and three assists, while senior forward Jenna Northup has a pair of goals and a pair of assists in 2026. Queens is one of the top offensive attacks in the ECC, owning the second-best marks in points (36), goals (12), and assists (12). The Knights senior midfielder Ashley Kieblesz has netted six goals and averages 2.00 points per game, making her the leader in both categories in the ECC and she is second in total points with 12, only trailing Cipolla. Mia Hanson, a freshman midfielder ranks second on the team with five points, behind one goal and three assists. Queens will take on Southern Connecticut State in non-conference action tonight at 7:00 p.m. before the conference opener against Roberts Wesleyan.
