Sarah Murphy Named East Coast Conference Intern for Fall 2026

COLONIA, N.J. – The East Coast Conference has announced the addition of Sarah Murphy as its intern for the Fall 2026 semester. Murphy will assist ECC staff in the areas of operations, media relations, and athletic administration, both day-to-day and on-site at assigned championships.

"I am excited to join the East Coast Conference as a fall semester intern," said Murphy. "As I begin this opportunity, I look forward to learning from the conference staff, gaining valuable experience in collegiate athletics, and contributing to the work that supports student-athletes and member institutions. I’m grateful for this opportunity to grow both personally and professionally throughout the semester."

Murphy most recently served as a student assistant for facilities and events operations at the University of South Alabama, from where she is currently working toward her bachelor’s degree in sports management with an anticipated graduation date in December 2026. While in that role from August 2023 through May 2026, she assisted with daily operations of athletic and campus event facilities, supported set-up and breakdown for games, tournaments, ceremonies, and special campus events, and more.

"I am excited to welcome Sarah to our conference office as we continue to invest in the future of college athletics,” said ECC Commissioner Jessica Grasso. “Creating meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities is a priority for us, and this role will provide invaluable experience across all facets of our conference. The ECC is proud to play a part in developing the next generation of leaders and can’t wait to see the impact this experience will have on both Sarah and the conference."

Murphy also assisted with the Panini Senior Bowl (Feb. 2026, event operations), NFL Super Bowl (Feb. 2025, campus fan services), Reese’s Senior Bowl (Feb. 2024 & Feb. 2025, event operations) and 7 Day Power Play (July 2023, event staff). She volunteered as a videographer with ECC member Daemen men’s basketball (Jan. 2026), as event staff for the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship (May 2025), and within football recruitment at the University of South Alabama (Aug. 2023-2024).

A native of Amherst, New York, Murphy is a 2023 graduate of Amherst Central High School.
