ECC Men's Lacrosse Report - Week 11

Offensive Player of the Week

Austin Maybee, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | M | Salamanca, NY

Maybee recorded 14 goals and an assist for a 15-point week, including a 10-point effort on nine goals and one assist against District of Columbia. 


Defensive Player of the Week

Cameron Dorfman, Mercy
Sophomore | GK | West Islip, NY

Dorfman made a game-high 18 saves with just 12 goals allowed to earn the win in Mercy's 13-12 overtime win over #15 Molloy that gave Mercy their sixth straight ECC Regular Season Championship. The sophomore also scored the game-winning goal off a full field shot in overtime and added six ground balls and a caused turnover that gave Mercy the ECC Championship over Molloy. 


Rookie of the Week

Vinny Rosario, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | FO | Ridge, NY

Rosario averaged .805 (33-for-41) at the dot this week for the Spartans against both Dominican (12-for-17) and UDC (21-for-24) while picking up a combined 20 ground balls and adding an assist.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Brian Green, Molloy
Junior | A | Kings Park, NY

Green led #15 Molloy with five points on two goals and three assists in the regular season finale against Mercy. His assists consistently came on scoring opportunities to keep the Lions within striking distance. The midfielder would find the back of the net twice in the final eight minutes of play, one on a critical man-up opportunity, and the other an unassisted tally to tie the game and force overtime. 

Seamus Kearney, Frostburg State
Senior | D | Mt. Airy, MD

Kearney led Frostburg State to a 13-7 win over Roberts Wesleyan in the team's regular season finale on Saturday, helping the Bobcats capture the No. 3 seed for this week’s ECC Men’s Lacrosse Championship. The FSU senior anchored the defensive effort, recording a team-high four caused turnovers to go along with four ground balls. 

Liam Linden, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | D | Amityville Harbor, NY

Linden had another strong defensive game for Roberts Wesleyan as he caused three turnovers and picked up four ground balls in the road loss at Frostburg. The three caused turnovers helped him break the school record for CTs in a season (now at 35). He currently leads the ECC with 2.69 CTs per game.

Christian Michaels, Molloy
Senior | GK | Smithtown, NY

Michaels made 17 saves to end the regular season for #15 Molloy. Six of the senior's saves came in the final 15 minutes of the contest, allowing the Lions’ offense to mount a comeback and force overtime at Mercy. Michaels did not face a single shot in overtime and was off the field for the game-winning goal with the Lions in a 10-man ride.

Austin Palen, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior | FO | Wallkill, NY

Palen averaged .774 (24-for-31) at the dot this week for the Spartans against both Dominican (6-for-11) and UDC (18-for-20) while picking up a combined 20 ground balls, causing a turnover, and adding two assists.

Luke Roach, Frostburg State
Sophomore | M | North Canton, OH

Roach helped guide Frostburg State to a 13-7 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday in the team's regular season finale, where the victory helped secure the No. 3 seed for this week’s ECC Men’s Lacrosse Championship. The FSU sophomore led all scorers with a hat trick and an assist, ripping six shots on goal.

Julian Schemm, District of Columbia
Graduate Student | A | Sykesville, MD

Schemm posted six points on a hat trick and three assists in the Firebirds’ loss to STAC. He also scooped two ground balls and forced a turnover. 

Ryan Smith, Mercy
Senior | A | Bethpage, NY

Smith had a game-high-tying five points on a game-high-tying three goals with two assists and one ground ball in Mercy's 13-12 overtime win over #15 Molloy on Friday that gave Mercy their sixth straight ECC Regular Season Championship.

Owen Stephenson, Mercy
Senior | D | Glen Rock, NJ

Stephenson had a game-high-tying three caused turnovers with four ground balls in Mercy's 13-12 overtime win over #15 Molloy on Friday.

Alex Walstrum, Frostburg State
Senior | FO | Easton, MD

Walstrum had another successful day at the X, rounding out Frostburg State’s regular season with an 8-for-10 performance with six ground balls to go with a goal.
