ROCHESTER, N.Y. – All-ECC Second Team forward Archie Murphy scored the double overtime game-winner in the 109th minute to lift No. 2 Roberts Wesleyan to a 1-0 win over No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas in 2025 ECC Men’s Soccer Championship Semifinals action at Roberts Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks (10-2-6, 4-1-3 ECC) will face No. 1 Queens in the 2025 ECC Men’s Soccer Championship Final next Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 PM in Flushing, N.Y., marking the first time in program history that Roberts Wesleyan will appear in the ECC Championship Final.
The decisive goal unfolded as midfielder Iann Briones fired off a shot from 25 yeards out that defelected off the crossbar. Murphy cut in between two Spartan defenders and headed his shot bottom left to take home the victory for the Redhawks.
St. Thomas Aquinas (7-8-2, 5-3-0 ECC) saw a majority of the possession throughout regulation, earning a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks and a resounding 19-2 opportunity in shots; the Spartans landed nine of those shots on frame, but RWU All-ECC Second Team goalkeeper Eric Jewson came up big with nine saves in 90:00 en route to a clean sheet in the full 108:31.
Murphy took three of RWU’s four shots, landing both of Roberts Wesleyan’s shots on goal for the match.
Alongside Jewson, the Redhawks saw full-match efforts from All-ECC First Team back Takumi Horan, All-ECC Third Team back Luke Hanes, and fellow linemate Dwayne Lewis alongside midfielders Louis Ferrari and Cooper Kerridge.
STAC midfielder Francisco Degiorgi fired off five shots with a team-high three on frame while All-ECC Second Team forward Kevon Evans and midfielder Jorge de la Vibora combined for nine shots. All-ECC Third Team goalkeeper Dante Muntane made one save vs. one goal allowed in the full 108:31.

FLUSHING, N.Y. – No. 1 Queens scored three goals in the opening 18 minutes and never looked back en route to a dominant 4-1 victory over No. 5 District of Columbia in 2025 ECC Men’s Soccer Championship Semifinals action at Varsity Soccer Field on Saturday evening. The Knights (13-3-3, 6-0-2 ECC) will host No. 2 Roberts Wesleyan in the 2025 ECC Men’s Soccer Championship Final next Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 PM in Flushing, N.Y., marking their second ECC Championship Final appearance in the last three seasons after winning it all in 2023.
All-ECC First Team midfielder Kevin Johnson got the scoring started in the 12th minute on a feed from ECC Defensive Player of the Year Tommy Wagner before ECC Rookie of the Year Bradyn Brown scored in the 16th minute on a helper from midfielder Kleverson Bolanos to double up QC’s early lead, 2-0.
Just over two minutes later, All-ECC First Team forward Miguel Soto Gonzalez scored on a dish from All-ECC First Team midfielder Andrew Johnson to extend Queens’ lead to 3-0 at the 18:00 mark.
The Knights used a 13-3 advantage in shots to put those three goals on the board while, on the defensive end, ECC Goalkeeper of the Year Thanasis Shehadeh made three stops to keep the Firebirds (9-4-4, 3-2-3 ECC) scoreless.
UDC didn’t waste any time looking to shift the momentum coming out of the halftime break as All-ECC Third Team midfielder Isaiah Daniel scored just 1:47 into the second half, assisted by All-ECC Third Team midfielder Zachary Parker.
From that point, Queens wouldn’t allow another shot on frame for the remainder of the match, and All-ECC Second Team forward Harry Cooke put away his ninth goal of the year in the 84th minute, assisted by Soto Gonzalez, for the security score.
Queens finished the evening with a 22-7 shot advantage, including a 12-4 shots on goal edge.
