COLONIA, N.J. – The 2025 ECC regular season champion Mercy Mavericks took home three of the five major awards to headline the ECC Women's Soccer All-Conference awards, as voted on by the league's eight head coaches and announced on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the start of the 2025 ECC Women's Soccer Championship. ECC Offensive Player of the Year honors went to Daemen senior forward Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) for the third consecutive season while Mercy’s Sarah Lill Hanks (Skedsmokorset, Norway) locked down ECC Defensive Player of the Year accolades and Molloy junior Elyse Muñoz (East Setauket, N.Y.) repeated as the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year. Mercy freshman back Casey Szczotka (Mattituck, N.Y.) was selected the ECC Rookie of the Year while Mavs head coach Jack Nicholson was unanimously chosen by his peers as the ECC Coach of the Year.
In all, No. 1 seed Mercy led the way with an ECC-leading 11 All-Conference selections. No. 2 Molloy finished with eight All-Conference honorees, including an ECC-leading four First Team picks, followed by No. 4 Daemen with seven, No. 3 Roberts Wesleyan with six, and No. 5 Queens with one.
Miranto repeated as the ECC's Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in points (34, third nationally) and goals (14, sixth nationally), which included an NCAA Division II-leading nine match-winners. Against ECC competition, the Daemen senior forward boasted an ECC-leading 13 points on five goals to go with three assists. Miranto recorded at least two points in 10 of 14 matches this fall; in-conference highlights include four points against St. Thomas Aquinas (2g) and Queens (1g, 2a), and three points against Staten Island (1g, 1a).
Defensive Player of the Year Hanks played 1,512 minutes in 17 starts as the leader of Mercy’s defensive core. The junior played 12 full matches and anchored the Mavs to eight clean sheets on the season while dishing out three assists out of the back, against Goldey Beacom, Wilmington, and Holy Family. Hanks led the Mavericks to a 47.1 shutout percentage, which ties for tops in the ECC.
Muñoz repeats as the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year after going 11-2-4 overall and 4-0-3 in conference play, playing all 1513:26 in net for the Lions, which ranks eighth nationally. The Molloy junior topped the ECC in goals against average for the second year in a row (71.4) and tied for the conference lead in shutouts, with eight. Muñoz posted seven or more saves in seven matches, including a season-high 14 in a 2-1 regional win over Pace, 13 in a 2-2 draw with Mercy, and nine in a 2-1 win over Daemen.
Szczotka was tabbed the ECC Rookie of the Year after making 16 starts in 1,429 minutes on defense and adding seven points on three goals and a helper out of the back. The Mercy freshman played the full 90:00 in ECC wins over Daemen, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Staten Island and draws with Molloy and Roberts Wesleyan and added a goal in the regular season finale at D’Youville. Of note out of conference play, Szczotka scored the match-winner and played the full 90:00 in Mercy’s 1-0 regional win over Pace.
After leading his Mavericks to their fourth ECC Regular Season Championship in program history, Nicholson was the unanimous selection for ECC Coach of the Year. Mercy finished with a 13-2-2 overall record and an undefeated 5-0-2 mark in conference play to earn the No. 1 seed heading into the ECC Championship.
