Roth Headlines D2CCA and AVCA Women's Volleyball All-East Region Teams

COLONIA, NJ – Seven student-athletes from the East Coast Conference have earned All-Region status from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

ECC Player of the Year Kiarra Roth was the lone First Team selection on both squads. A three-time All-ECC First Team honoree, the Molloy graduate student outside hitter led the entire NCAA East Region in total attacks (1,191, ninth nationally), attacks per set (11.68, 10th nationally), total kills (430, 12th nationally), kills per set (4.22, 12th nationally), and points per set (4.66, 24th nationally); her 475 points were 136 more than the league's runner-up while her 430 kills were 145 more than the league's runner-up. Roth totaled 23 matches with double-digit kills, including 11 matches with 20 or more, and added eight kill/dig double-doubles.

ECC Setter of the Year Adriana Rivera Rodriguez of Mercy, ECC Libero of the Year Jasmine Brundage of Daemen, and Julia Pomerleau of Mercy also earned spots on both teams.

A trio of additional standouts also earned spots on the AVCA All-East Region Team, with Daemen's Giselle Giraud landing on the First Team and Mercy's Gabriela Bieniek and Daemen's Nahirka Malpica garnering Honorable Mention accolades.

In total, six of the East Region honorees will begin play for the NCAA Division II East Region Championship and a spot in the Final Eight tomorrow, December 5 as Daemen and Mercy (and ECC champion D'Youville) battle it out at the 2024 regional championship, hosted by top seed Bentley University at the Dana Center.

Sports Information Directors from NCAA Division II East Region schools and conferences selected the two CCA All-Region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced at the NCAA Division II Final Eight Championship.
