Preview: Florida State
After winning the ECC last spring and competing in nationals at Dallas, Florida State's goal is to win the ECC again. FSU had three returning students compete from last year in Pagne, Phrog, and team captain, Zash along with new additions to the team in FlyingFish and iTheta. The members of the team have shown up every week and took home the wins FSU has needed. Florida State has had a great bond and work ethic this season between traveling to tournaments to organizing local tournaments to late-night grind sessions. The squad hasn't dropped a game yet in any set and aims to close out its season with another ECC title while continuing to improve and compete.

Preview: Molloy
Molloy's captain, Torna (Nicholas Miller), is a Sephiroth main leading the team into victory up until finals for the ECC. During the ECC league matches, Torna had swept a whole crew by himself using Kazuya, a character that isn’t in his main roster. Outside of the ECC, Torna has a multitude of Top 8 performances at both in-region and out-of-region local events, competing and beating many local power ranked players. Torna even boasts a local win against many of the Long Island power ranked players.

Supermario (Mario Macchiarulo) is a Zero Suit Samus main who only started competing in Smash Ultimate tournaments outside of the ECC during October of last year.   Supermario boasts an impressive stock count, almost eliminating Utica Blue completely by himself during the league matches of the ECC. GutBustr is a Mr. Game & Watch main for Smash Ultimate, and he has a large amount of achievements related to the game, even when he is not directly competing in a bracket.

Recently, GutBustr (Connor Harper) has dived into the commentary scene for the game, casting at many different larger events such as Defend the North 2023, Alpha 5, Alpha, 6, CTGaamercon, and EON Revelation, casting with some of the higher profile commentators in the scene.  Don’t mistake him for being “just a commentator," as he can do some damage in brackets outside of the commentary booth. Just recently outside of the ECC, GutBustr earned an impressive Top 64 placement at the Smash Ultimate Major Shine 2023.

[REDACTED] (Christian Aldana) is another competitor for Molloy University, and he has some very good results rivaling the captain of the team.  [REDACTED] is a Min Min main in Smash Ultimate and boasts some impressive results outside of the ECC, defeating many of Long Island's current and former power ranked players and showing up in many T op 8 performances at local events for Long Island.
