Player of the Week
Katie Wall, Mercy (Senior, G - Wappinger Falls, N.Y.)
Wall averaged a team-high 33.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game on 52.6 percent shooting as Mercy went 2-0 on the week with wins over Saint Anselm and regionally-ranked Southern Connecticut State. The senior opened the week with a game-high and career-high 40 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the floor and 12-of-14 shooting from the foul line with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in the win over Saint Anselm on Saturday. Wall ended the week with a game-high 26 points on 8-of-18 shooting with seven rebounds and three steals in Mercy's win over regionally-ranked Southern Connecticut State on Sunday.
Defensive Player of the Week
Danielle Hippner, Molloy (Junior, C - East Meadow, N.Y.)
Hippner averaged 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game in Molloy's first two games of the season. She began the year with 13 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in a win over Chestnut Hill before adding five blocks against Jefferson. Hippner also tallied 12.5 points per game on the week.
Rookie of the Week
Nkiru Awaka, Queens (Freshman, F - Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Rookie forward Nkiru Awaka averaged 11.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in the opening two games of the year. Awaka began her Knights career recording 11 points, and eight rebounds to go with three steals against Jefferson before she tallied a career-best 12 points and nine rebounds against Chestnut Hill in the CACC/ECC Conference Challenge.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Georgia Haverlock, Roberts Wesleyan (Graduate Student, G - Ithaca, N.Y.)
Haverlock averaged 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game to start the season. She shot 60.0 percent from the field and hit five three-pointers against Felician to tie her career-high.
Anna Jankovic, D'Youville (Junior, G - Averill Park, N.Y.)
Jankovic recorded a double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Dominican on Friday. Had three steals on Saturday against American International.
Erin Leary, St. Thomas Aquinas (Junior, F - Carle Place, N.Y.)
Leary averaged 18.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in the Spartans first two contests of the 2023-24 season. The junior forward posted 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists against AIC and followed it up with a 21-point, 12-rebound, 1-assist and 1-steal effort against Dominican. She also shot 52 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three-point and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Alahna Paige, Daemen (Senior, G - Rochester, N.Y.)
Daemen University senior guard Alahna Paige totaled 34 points (17 ppg), shooting 42-percent from the field (11-of-26) and knocking down 7-of-14 for three as the Wildcats split the weekend at the Redhawks Classic, 1-1. Paige led all shooters on the floor in Friday's 61-76 loss to Bentley where she tallied 24 points after shooting 8-of-15 from the field, 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the free throw stripe. She also totaled nine rebounds (4.5 rpg), six assists and two steals on the weekend.
