COLONIA, NJ – Mercy, Roberts Wesleyan, Molloy, and Daemen have qualified for the East Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship and, for the first time ever, will be competing not only for the conference trophy but for the ECC’s automatic bid into the 2025 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
The tournament gets underway on Wednesday, April 30 with the semifinal matchups on the campus sites of the higher seeds. The championship game of the tournament will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 3 at a time to be determined.
After going an identical 5-1 in conference play, Mercy, Molloy, and Roberts Wesleyan share the ECC Regular Season Championship for the second time in three years.
There hasn’t been an ECC Final without the Mavericks since 2016, as No. 1 seed Mercy has appeared in each of the last seven championship games, winning it all in 2019, 2022, and 2023. The Mavs are receiving votes in this week’s IWLCA Coaches Poll.
Defending tournament champion Roberts Wesleyan (7-7, 5-1 ECC) earns the No. 2 seed. The Redhawks have reached the ECC Final in each of the last four seasons, taking it all in 2021 and 2024.
No. 3 Molloy (8-8, 5-1 ECC) will meet the Redhawks in the postseason tournament semifinals for the seventh straight season on Wednesday evening.
Daemen (5-10, 3-3), who clinched the No. 4 seed with a thrilling 13-12 overtime win over D’Youville in the final week of the regular season, will make history as the Wildcats appear in their first ever ECC Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
All games during the championship will be broadcast live on the ECC Network website and the ECC Network app on Apple and Android mobile devices and on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku streaming devices.
