How it Happened
- The Lions looked to crack the scoreboard in the top of the second inning with two outs. Sophomore Sean Welsh singled and got his way to third, following a stolen base and a wild pitch. - In the third, junior JJ DeVito reached base following getting hit by a pitch, for the 30th time this season and moved into scoring position following an error.

- In the bottom of the fourth, New Haven was able to get its first base runner of the afternoon following a double from Matt McIntire. McIntire moved to third following an error, putting the tying run 90 feet away.
- But senior Ryan Hynes bared down and struck out the Chargers three and four hitter to escape the jam and get out of the inning with Molloy still in front.
