Matt Yip, Molloy
Senior | Catcher | Williston Park, N.Y.
Yip continued to provide power from the cleanup spot in the order this week. The Molloy senior collected three multi-hit and multi-RBI performances in a 4-1 week for the Lions. The Williston Park, N.Y. native blasted his eighth and ninth home runs of the season against Lincoln while scoring a career-high four runs on Sunday. To cap the week, Yip hit .500 (8-for-16), scored 11 runs, drew eight walks, knocked in seven runs, collected four extra base hits, and hit two home runs while slugging 1.000 and getting on base at a .680 clip.
Pitcher of the Week
Chris Auclair, D’Youville
Junior | Pitcher | Baldwinsville, N.Y.
Auclair threw six shutout innings while only allowing three hits and striking out six batters in D'Youville's 7-0 win over Queens on Friday.
Rookie of the Week
Joe Burriesci, Molloy
Freshman | Outfield | Farmingdale, N.Y.
Burriesci collected a hit in all five games on the week, including a pair of multi-hit, three-RBI performances. The Farmingale, N.Y. native totaled three hits and a run scored against St. Thomas Aquinas and a career-high four hits and three RBI against Lincoln. On the week, the freshman hit .556 (10-for-18), drove in seven runs, scored four times, and got on base at a .579 pace.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Alec Boucher, D’Youville
Junior | Infielder | Essex, Ontario
Boucher went 7-for-11 with a double, triple, two walks, and two RBI in four games against Queens. The D’Youville junior infielder went 4-for-5 with a double and a two-run triple in Saturday's doubleheader and picked up a hit in all four games this weekend.
Caleb Cassie, Queens
Junior | Pitcher | Vancouver, British Columbia
In a tough loss to DYU junior Caleb Cassie pitched a career-best seven innings of work as he limited the Saints to five hits, two runs scored, (none earned), and one walk to go with eight strikeouts. Over the seven innings of work, Cassie would keep the Knights in the game including retiring 10 Saints batters in a row.
Marc Cisco, Queens
Junior | Second Base | Long Island City, N.Y.
Returning to the lineup for the first time in over a month, Cisco batted .429, SLG % of .429, OB % of .467 with six hits, two RBI, and two runs scored to go with two multi-hit games. In the 10-8 comeback victory against DYU, Cisco recorded his first three-hit performance of the year, hitting 3-for-5 to go with an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. With the game tied 8-8, Cisco would deliver the go-ahead run with an RBI single to right field before he scored the insurance run as Queens earned their seventh ECC victory of the year. In the rubber game Sunday afternoon, Cisco recorded his second straight multi-hit game with a 2-for-5 performance and an RBI.
Charlie Cucchiara, Molloy
Graduate Student | Pitcher | East Meadow, N.Y.
Cucchiara improved to 6-0 on the campaign this week against Lincoln. The right-hander tossed six shutout innings allowing six hits and struck out five in Molloy's 19-0 triumph.
Chris Ewing, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior | Infielder | New York, N.Y.
Ewing hit .385 (5-for-13) with a double for the Spartans over five games last week. The junior shortstop drove in six runs and scored another five, while also earning six walks from opposing pitchers and going two-for-two in stolen base opportunities.
Gavin McAlonie, Molloy
Second Base
McAlonie was efficient providing protection to the heart of the lineup this week. The senior collected three multi-hit games and scored multiple times in all four victories for Molloy. The second basemen totaled three RBI Saturday at Lincoln and scored a career-high four runs Sunday against the Lions. On the week, McAlonie hit .409 (9-for-22) scored 11 runs, drove in six runs, walked three times, and stole two bases.
Kyle Rogers, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | Pitcher | Clifton, N.J.
Rogers posted a 1-0 record and a save in three appearances for the Spartans last week. The lefty freshman allowed only one hit and three walks with no runs over 3.0 innings pitched, while fanning two opposing hitters.
Ryan Rozinski, Mercy
Senior | Pitcher | Middletown, N.J.
Rozinski pitched five innings with just two runs and two hits allowed to go with five strikeouts to earn the no-decision against No. 6 Millersville on Sunday.
Sam Worthen, D’Youville
Senior | Pitcher | Guelph, Ontario
Worthen threw five scoreless innings while only allowing three hits and notching three saves in three appearances this weekend against Queens.
