ECC Women's Lacrosse Report - Week 11

Offensive Player of the Week

Emma Blumenstock, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | Midfielder | Penfield, N.Y.

In two wins last week, Blumenstock totaled 23 points on seven goals and 16 assists. In a 19-6 non-conference win over Post, Blumenstock had a career-high 15 points on six goals and nine assists. The junior followed that performance with one goal and seven assists in a 12-11 conference win over Mercy that clinched the ECC Regular-Season Championship for the Redhawks. 


Defensive Co-Player of the Week

Shawna Lesmerises, Roberts Wesleyan
Junior | Goalkeeper | Merrimack, N.H.

Lesmerises led the Redhawks to two wins last week. The junior made five saves vs. five goals allowed in a 19-6 non-conference win over Post before adding seven saves, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a 12-11 conference win over Mercy that clinched the ECC Regular-Season Championship for the Redhawks. 


Defensive Co-Player of the Week

Lauren Parker, D’Youville
Sophomore | Defender/Midfielder | Syracuse, N.Y.

Parker helped the Saints to a 2-0 conference record on the week, grabbing eight ground balls, causing four turnovers, and winning 15 draw controls. In D’Youville’s 9-8 2OT win over Daemen, Parker grabbed three ground balls, caused three turnovers, and won five draw controls. In the team’s 21-2 win over District of Columbia, Parker grabbed five ground balls, caused one turnover, won 10 draw controls, and scored her first collegiate goal.


Rookie of the Week

Victoria Bustamante, Molloy
Freshman | Midfielder | Manorville, N.Y.

Bustamante matched a career-high five draw controls in Molloy's 17-8 conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas along with two goals and a ground ball. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Jillian Bernas, D’Youville
Junior | Attacker | Cheektowaga, N.Y.

Bernas helped the Saints to a 2-0 conference record on the week, scoring three goals while adding six assists. In D’Youville’s 9-8 2OT conference win over Daemen, Bernas scored two goals, including the 2OT game-winner. In the team’s 21-2 conference win over District of Columbia, Bernas scored one goal to go along with a career-high six assists.

Madison Buck, D’Youville
Sophomore | Attacker | Rochester, N.Y.

Buck helped the Saints to a 2-0 conference record on the week with five goals and five assists. In D’Youville’s 9-8 2OT conference win over Daemen, Buck scored one goal. In the team's 21-2 win over District of Columbia, Buck scored four goals on four shot attempts on net while adding a career-high five assists.

Madison Handley, D’Youville
Sophomore | Attacker | Lancaster, N.Y.

Handley helped power the Saints to a 2-0 conference week, scoring seven goals while adding five assists. In D’Youville’s 9-8 2OT conference win over Daemen, Handley scored three goals. In the team’s 21-2 conference win over District of Columbia, Handley scored four goals on four shot attempts on net while adding a career-high five assists.

Leah Hansen, Mercy
Junior | Attacker | Greenlawn, N.Y.

Hansen had a team-high 12 points and 10 goals to go along with two assists as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The junior had a game-high-tying three goals in Mercy's 12-11 conference loss at Roberts Wesleyan on Friday. Hansen ended the week with a career-high nine points on seven goals and two assists in Mercy's 18-5 conference win over Daemen on Sunday. 

Joanna Mauceri, Molloy
Senior | Midfielder | New Hyde Park, N.Y.

Mauceri tallied a complete stat line for the Lions in the final game of the regular season, leading the team with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 17-8 conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas. The midfielder also added three draw controls and tallied two points on a goal and an assist.

Megan Rugulo, Molloy
Senior | Attacker | Oceanside, N.Y.

Rugolo led the Lions with five goals in a 17-8 conference win over St. Thomas Aquinas, adding an assist for six points. The attacker also controlled three draws and forced two turnovers on the week.

Jada Williams, District of Columbia
Junior | Midfielder/Attacker | Kingston, Jamaica

Williams posted seven points on five goals and two assists in a 0-2 week for the Firebirds. In the Firebirds’ 16-8 non-conference loss to Caldwell, she had four goals, two assists, six ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers. In the 21-2 conference loss to D'Youville, she scored a goal.
