ECC Softball Report - Week Nine

Co-Player of the Week

Steph Conrade, Molloy
Graduate Student | Outfield | Franklin Square, N.Y.

Conrade was a force on the base paths in a 4-0 week for the Lions, stealing six bases without being caught. The centerfielder recorded a hit in each of the four contests, tallying a batting average and on-base percentage of .538, scoring five of Molloy's 20 runs on the week. 


Co-Player of the Week

Nicole Smart, Mercy
Graduate Student | Second Base | Santa Clarita, Calif.

Smart hit a team-high .538 (7-for-13) with three home runs, five RBI, and three runs scored in four games this week. The graduate student opened the week going 4-for-7 with three RBI and two home runs in a doubleheader at Molloy on Friday. Smart ended the week going 3-for-6 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored in the split with Queens on Saturday. 


Pitcher of the Week

Natalie Moussa, Molloy
Junior | Pitcher | Chino Hills, Calif.

Moussa was a critical factor in Molloy's 4-0 week, entering the circle in relief in two contests and walking away with a win and her first collegiate save. The junior put up a 0.75 ERA through 9.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on eight hits while striking out six.


Rookie of the Week

Olivia Wanser, Staten Island
Freshman | Catcher/First Base | Westbury, N.Y.

Wanser continued to swing a hot bat this week as she hit .500 (13-26) across six games.  Of her 13 hits, four went for extra bases and she added another nine RBI to her conference-leading total.  When play concluded this week, the freshman was top ten in the conference in nearly every major offensive category.  She leads the conference in RBI with 36, is second in doubles with 15, is second in hits with 49, and is third in on-base percentage at .453.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Aileen Balderas, Staten Island
Sophomore | Shortstop | Los Angeles, Calif.

Balderas hit .433 this week (13-30) with seven RBI and 13 runs scored.  The sophomore also connected on her fourth home run of the season which is tied for third in the conference.  Balderas leads the conference in hits with 55, runs scored with 38, and doubles with 16.  She is also near the top of the conference in several other offensive categories.

Caylea Campbell, Queens
Freshman | Utility | Murrieta, Calif.

In six games on the week, rookie Caylea Campbell batted .500 with a 1.000 SLG%, and .684 OB% as she recorded six hits, three doubles, one home run, three RBI, five runs scored to go with a team-high seven walks, and one multi-hit game. In the DH split vs Mercy on Saturday afternoon Campbell batted a scorching .667 with a 2.000 SLG %, and .889 OB % as the rookie recorded two hits, one double, one home run, three RBI, six walks, and four runs scored. In the game one victory over Mercy Campbell would hold the Mavericks to 10 hits, four earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts as Queens earned their first ECC series of the year and first ECC series over Mercy since the 2016 season. 

Sarah Clancy, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Pitcher | Chino Hills, Calif. 

Clancy won her only start of the week, a 2-1 decision over Pace University. The senior lefty pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits and a run, while walking none and striking out six.

Stevie Dabbadie, Molloy
Freshman | Utlity/Pitcher | Burbank, Calif.

Dabbadie drove in five runs at the plate this week for the Lions, including two against Staten Island with a double and a triple and two against Mercy with her first career home run. In the circle, the rookie tossed 4.2 innings, striking out five.

Samantha Franck, Mercy
Graduate Student | First Base | La Habra Heights, Calif.

Franck hit .300 (6-for-20) with a team-high four home runs to go with six RBI and four runs scored in six games. The graduate student opened the week going 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs in the win over Bloomfield on Tuesday. The first baseman then went 1-for-4 in game two at Molloy on Friday. Franck ended the week going 3-for-6 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored in the split with Queens on Saturday. 

Sophia Mariottini, Molloy
Freshman | Pitcher | Hollister, Calif.

Mariottini had a 2.50 ERA on the week, tossing two complete games and adding two wins. The freshman struck out seven batters on the week and allowed just two walks. 

Averi Miller, Mercy
Freshman | Shortstop | Las Vegas, Nev.

Miller hit .381 (8-for-21) with a team-high eight RBI to go with three runs, three doubles, a home run and two stolen bases in six games. The freshman opened the week going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and a career-high six RBI in the game two win over Bloomfield on Tuesday. The shortstop then went 2-for-7 at Molloy on Friday before going 4-for-8 with two RBI and a run scored in the split with Queens on Saturday. 

Allie Parascandola, Queens
Sophomore | Shortstop | East Quogue, N.Y.

In six games on the week sophomore shortstop Allie Parascandola batted .500, .500 SLG %, and .556 OB % as she recorded eight hits, two RBI, one walk, and four runs scored. In the DH split vs Mercy on Saturday Parascandola batted .429, .429 SLG %, and .429 OB % as the sophomore recorded three hits, with three runs scored as Queens earned their first ECC series of the year and first ECC series over Mercy since the 2016 season.

Mackayla Secoda, Mercy
Sophomore | Pitcher | Lansdale, Pa.

Secoda went 1-2 in the circle with a team-best 2.88 ERA in 17.0 innings with two complete games. The sophomore opened the week pitching a complete game with just one run allowed and five strikeouts in a 1-0 loss to Bloomfield on Tuesday. Secoda then allowed four runs in four innings with two strikeouts at Molloy on Friday. The pitcher ended the week with a complete game and two earned runs allowed to earn the win in game two against Queens on Saturday.
