The No. 3-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball team has earned the right to host the East Super Regional round of the NCAA Division II Softball Tournament, and will take on No. 5-seeded Assumption University beginning Thursday, May 21 at Spartan Field in Sparkill, New York.

St. Thomas Aquinas (36-12) punched its ticket to the Super Regional with wins over Southern New Hampshire University (7-6) and Adelphi University (3-1 & 7-5) in the East Region 2 pod held at Adelphi University, while Assumption (33-26) advanced via victories over Caldwell University (7-1) and Mercy University (7-1 & 9-0) in the East Region 1 pod, held at Franklin Pierce University.

The maroon and gold bring an NCAA Division II-best 21-game winning streak into the next round of the tournament, along with a program record 36 victories.

STAC and Assumption met during the 2026 regular season, with each team taking a victory in the March 15 matchup at Spartan Field (Game 1: 8-0 STAC & Game 2: 7-0 Assumption).

The best-of-three series gets underway on May 21 with Game One action at 12:00 p.m. and continues on May 22 with Game Two at 12:00 p.m. and an if necessary Game Three at 3:00 p.m. 

The winner of the East Super Regional will be crowned Regional Champion, and will then make their way to Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Division II Finals, May 28 to June 3.
