Player of the Week
Sofia Marella, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore, DP Cranston, RI
Marella batted .533 (8-for-15) with four homers, 13 RBI and four runs scored to lead STAC to a 4-0 week to stretch its winning streak to 11 games, the longest such streak in the 47-year history of the program. In addition, the sophomore designed player recorded her 100th career hit against Felician.
Pitcher of the Week
Summer Clark, D'Youville
Senior, Pitcher, Williamsville, NY
Clark held a 2.55 ERA recording two wins for the Saints this past weekend. The Senior threw 11 innings including two complete games. Clark struck out 12 including her 200th career strikeout in game one against Queens College on Sunday.
Rookie of the Week
Emma Jackson, Mercy
Freshman, OF, Marlboro, NY
Jackson hit .500 (8-for-16) with six runs, three RBI, two triples and one double as Mercy went 3-1 on the week. The freshman opened the week going 4-for-7 with four runs, three RBI, a triple and a double in the sweep of Post on Tuesday. Jackson ended the week going 4-for-4 with two runs and a triple in game one against Queens on Friday.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Isabella Mancino, D'Youville
Junior, Outfield, Wynantskill, NY
Mancino batted .636 with seven hits across eleven at-bats this past week. In those seven hits, the Junior recorded three triples bringing in seven RBIs while also scoring seven runs herself.
Annie Jorgenson, D'Youville
Sophomore, Infielder, Victoria, British Columbia
Jorgenson batted .615 this past week recording eight hits across 13 at-bats. The Sophomore recorded three doubles with five runs scored and three RBIs.
Frankie Morris, D'Youville
Sophomore, Infielder, Lancaster, NY
Morris batted .600 this week a 1.067 slugging percentage. The Sophomore recorded nine hits in 15 at-bats with six RBIs, five runs scored, five doubles, and one triple. Morris also recorded the walkoff single that gave the Saints the game one mercy rule win against Queens College on Sunday.
Mackayla Secoda, Mercy
Senior, Pitcher, Lansdale, PA
Secoda went 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA, one save, and nine strikeouts in 13.2 innings. The senior pitched a scoreless inning of relief to earn the save in Mercy's game-one win over Post on Tuesday. Secoda ended the week pitching a nine-inning complete game with three runs allowed and two strikeouts to earn the game-two win over Queens on Friday.
Allison Murphy, Mercy
Junior, 2B, Stony Point, NY
Murphy hit a team-high .533 (8-for-15) with a team-high seven runs to go with three RBI, three stolen bases and one double as Mercy went 3-1 on the week. The junior opened the week going 5-for-7 with six runs, two RBI, a double and two stolen bases in the sweep of Post on Tuesday. The second baseman recorded her 100th career run scored in game two. Murphy ended the week going 3-for-8 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base in the split against Queens on Friday.
Julianna Coluccio, Mercy
Junior, 3B, Sicklerville, NJ
Coluccio hit .353 (6-for-17) with three runs, two home runs, eight RBI, two stolen bases and one double as Mercy went 3-1 on the week. The junior opened the week going 5-for-8 with eight RBI, two home runs, three runs and two stolen bases in the sweep of Post on Tuesday. Coluccio ended the week going 1-for-5 in the game two win over Queens on Friday.
Averi Miller, Mercy
Junior, SS, Las Vegas, NV
Miller hit .375 (6-for-16) with a team-high nine RBI to go with one home run, four doubles and four runs as Mercy went 3-1 on the week. The junior opened the week going 3-for-7 with three runs, six RBI and three doubles in the sweep of Post on Tuesday. Miller ended the week going 3-for-9 with three RBI, a home run, a double and one run in the split against Queens on Friday.
Emily McGurk, Molloy
Senior, Infielder,
McGurk posted a .462 batting average, .538 slugging percentage, and a .462 on base percentage off six hits and four RBI this past week. At Pace, McGurk went 3-for-3 where she singled up the middle to drive in a run before hitting a bases-clearing double to drive in an additional three runs. The senior added an additional two hits in the doubleheader against St. Thomas Aquinas.
Alyssa Bueno, Molloy
Freshman, Infielder, South Gate, CA
Bueno batted .500 this past week, with a .571 slugging percentage, and .462 on base percentage off seven hits, a walk, and three RBI. In the doubleheader at Pace, the freshman totaled four hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Against St. Thomas Aquinas, Bueno added another three hits, driving in one run.
Olivia Wanser, Queens
Junior, DP, Westbury, NY
In a four-game ECC week, junior Olivia Wanser led the offense with a scorching batting average of .778, on-base percentage of .875, and slugging percentage of 1.222. She recorded a team-high seven hits, including one double and one home run, while drawing six walks, scoring two runs, and driving in four. Wanser extended her hitting streak to four games, highlighted by three multi-hit performances and one multi-RBI game.
Kadie Cain, Queens
Junior, 3B, Hauppauge, NY
In a four-game ECC week, junior Kadie Cain posted a batting average of .400, on-base percentage of .471, and slugging percentage of .467. She totaled six hits, including one double, along with one walk, two RBIs, and a team-high five runs scored. Cain extended her four-game hitting streak and recorded two multi-hit games, bringing her season total to a team-high 15 multi-hit performances.
Nellie Donahue, Queens
Freshman, RHP, Levittown, NY
In a 1-1 week for the Knights, rookie right-hander Nellie Donahue earned her team-leading sixth win of the season in an 8-4 complete-game victory over Mercy on Friday afternoon. After surrendering an unearned run in the first inning, Donahue settled in and held the Mavericks scoreless over the next five innings, working through consistent traffic while striking out eight. Backed by an early 8-1 lead from the offense, she closed out the game to secure the win.
Emma Grace Popp, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman, Pitcher, Buffalo, NY
Popp remained undefeated (8-0) in ECC play with wins over Felician and Molloy last week. The freshman pitcher struck out 17 batters and compiled an ERA of 3.00. In addition, she registered her 100th career strikeout in the win over Felician.
Adriana Coira, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior, SS, San Juan, Puerto Rico
Coira drove in four runs and scored five times to help STAC to a 4-0 record in the week. The senior shortstop batted .385 with five hits in 13 at-bats, along with clubbing a double and a home run, while also stealing three bases.
Elyse Marcano, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior, 2B, Middletown, NY
Marcano batted an impressive .643 with nine hits in 14 at-bats, including a triple. The senior second baseman also drove in two, scored eight runs and stole three bases.
Bridget Motley, Staten Island
Junior, 2B, Staten Island, NY
Led the team in game one against the Saints on Saturday going 2-3 at the plate with one RBI.
