INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – With Selection Sunday days away, the East Coast Conference is well represented in the next-to-last NCAA Regional Rankings that were released late Wednesday afternoon.
The Daemen University men's basketball continues to sit in first place in the East Region rankings, a spot they have held since the polls were initialized released a couple weeks ago. St. Thomas Aquinas dipped one spot to ninth, while the College of Staten Island dropped one spot down to tenth.
On the women's side, Daemen University rose one spot from fourth to fifth, while Mercy went up one spot to seventh.
The final polls will be released following the announcement of the tournament field on Sunday.
The College of Staten Island lost their playoff game Wednesday night in the ECC tournament, while Daemen and St. Thomas Aquinas will play on Saturday afternoon in the ECC semis. Daemen will play crosstown rival D'Youville, with STAC taking on Roberts Wesleyan.
For the women, Daemen and Mercy will also pIay in the ECC semifinals on Saturday afternoon. Daemen will take on Staten Island, with Mercy taking on Molloy.
