Indoor Track and Field Championship set for Sunday at Ocean Breeze

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The 2026 edition of the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship is set for Sunday, February 15, at Ocean Breeze Track and Field Complex. The championship features 11 teams (11 women, 9 men) competing in 16 events.

The event will be live on FloCollege – focused primarily on the track events with some coverage of the field events when possible.

In the preseason coaches' poll, Holy Family was picked to win the men’s competition with 69 points and five first-place votes, while Roberts Wesleyan was selected to win the women’s side with 102 points and four first-place votes.

Last season, both Holy Family (men) and Roberts Wesleyan (women) won their selective championships.
Track Events
In the 60 hurdles, Darwin Almonte Pena from St. Thomas Aquinas has the top time coming in with a mark of 8.17, with his teammate Justus Behne second at 8.35. On the women’s side, Kyndra Hines of UDC is first at 8.66, while fellow Firebird Kayleigh Shelton is second at 8.89.

In the 60 dash, Devin Jones from Felician is first at 6.96 with David Crews in second at 6.99. The women’s portion has Hines at 7.73 and Daizhae’ Brown of Georgian Court second at 7.76.
Almonte Pena and Behne are 1-2 in the men’s 200 with times of 21.46 and 21.84, while Sophia Hines of Molloy is first (25.45) and Cooper is second at 25.77 on the women’s side.

In the 400, Kingjohn (KJ) Ede of Staten Island is seeded first at 49.63 followed by Raymar Duncan of Molloy in second at 49.89. On the women’s side, Cameron Campo of Molloy is seeded first at 58.41, with Chantoya Thomas from Felician in second at 58.48.

In the 800, Jackson Doran from Roberts Wesleyan is seeded first at 1:57.57 with Ronaldo Rodriguez Perez from St. Thomas Aquinas in second at 1:57.74. On the women’s side, Carly Koprowski from Queens is the top seed with 2:13.38 followed by Samantha Morrison from UDC in second at 2:18.21.

In the mile run, Doran is first at 4:12.16 on the men’s side followed by CJ Johnson from Daemen in second at 4:20.96. On the women’s side, Marie Naudus from Molloy is first at 5:05.48, with Paige Reeser from Roberts Wesleyan at 5:08.62.

In the 3000 meter run, Trevor Heitkamp of Roberts Wesleyan is seeded first at 8:42.71 while CJ Johnson of Daemen is second at 8:48.82. On the women’s side, Molloy is 1-2 as Kathleen Healy is first at 10:09.12, while Naudus is second at 10:11.06.

In the 5000 meter run, Jakob Zibbel of Roberts Wesleyan is first at 15:22.22, with Ethan Keating in second at 15:23.27. The women’s side sees Healy first at 17:45.86, while Rachel Horner-Richardson from Roberts Wesleyan in second at 17:53.29.

In the relays, Roberts Wesleyan has the top time in the distance medley with a 10:36.66 on the men’s side, while Roberts Wesleyan also has the top time on the women’s side at 12:28.32.

In the 4x400 relay, Staten Island has the top time on the men’s side at 3:21.95 while Molloy has the top time on the women’s side at 4:06.01.
Field Events
Starting in the throws, Mark Linton of Georgian Court has the top seed in the weight throw at 18.43 meters, with teammate Cameren Anderson in second at 16.55 meters. On the women’s side, Emmanuela Katou-Kouami of UDC is first at 17.68 meters followed by Victoria Maher of St. Thomas Aquinas at 16.06 meters.

In the shotput, Anderson is first at 15.92 meters for the men, followed by teammate Malicah Etienne in second at 15.43 meters. On the women’s side, Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir of Georgian Court is seeded first at 11.65 meters followed by Julia Petry of Daemen in second at 11.47 meters.

In the long jump, Devin Jones of Felician is first at 7.40 meters with Javon Bowen of Holy Family in second at 7.23 meters. On the women’s side, Jenna Capolupo of D’Youville is first at 5.65 meters while Jaydn Mullen of Roberts Wesleyan is seeded second at 5.61 meters.

In the triple jump, Odane Smith of Holy Family is seeded first at 14.74 meters, while Ernest Robertson from Holy Family is seeded second at 14.62 meters. On the women’s side, Adonijah Washington of Staten Island is first at 11.65 meters with Brown from Georgian Court in second at 11.39 meters.

In the high jump, Odane Smith of Holy Family is seeded first at 1.90 meters, while Calvin Lill of Roberts Wesleyan is second at 1.88 meters. On the women’s side, Jadyn Mullen of Roberts Wesleyan is first at 1.74 meters, while Zoe Shaw of UDC is second at 1.66 meters.

In the pole vault, Roberts Wesleyan has the top two spots on both sides, as Austin Melvin is first on the men’s side at 5.27 meters followed by Tarron Metz in second at 4.85 meters. On the women’s side, Karis Kraf was first at 4.18 meters with Kennedy Benjamins second at 3.87 meters.
