Player of the Week
Allison Murphy, Mercy
Sophomore | 2B | Stony Point, NY
Murphy hit .414 (12-for-29) with a team-high eight runs and five doubles to go with a home run and six RBI as Mercy went 6-2 on the week to secure an ECC Championship berth. The sophomore opened the week going 3-for-7 with an RBI and a run in the sweep of Molloy on Monday. The second baseman then went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs in the game two win at CSI on Tuesday. Murphy went 4-for-8 with two RBI, a home run and three runs in the sweep at Molloy on Friday. The sophomore ended the week going 3-for-6 with a run against Queens on Sunday.
Pitcher of the Week
Skylar Brandemarte, Mercy
Senior | P | Poughkeepsie, NY
Brandemarte went 3-1 in the circle with a save, a 1.45 ERA, and 13 strikeouts in 29.0 innings pitched with four complete games. The senior opened the week with a five-hit shutout with two strikeouts to earn the win over Molloy on Monday. On Friday, the pitcher tossed a one-hit shutout with two strikeouts to earn the win in game one at Molloy on Friday. In game two on Friday, the senior tossed a scoreless inning of relief to earn the save. Brandemarte ended the week with a complete game and no earned runs allowed and five strikeouts in game one against Queens on Sunday.
Rookie of the Week
Sofia Marella, St. Thomas Aquinas
Freshman | DP | Cranston, RI
Marella homered and drove in six runs on the week. The freshman designated player batted .500 (6-for-12) and scored two runs.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Amanda Baez, Queens
Senior | CF | Selden, NY
In a 2-2 week to close out the year, Baez batted .455 with a SLG % of .1.091, and an OB % of .538 notching five hits, one double, two home runs, earning two walks, scoring five runs, and driving in six. The Selden native recorded a hit in all four games including one multi-hit game. In the 2-0 sweep over Mercy, Baez recorded two home runs, three RBI, two walks, and scored four runs as Queens closed out the year on a positive note.
Kadie Cain, Queens
Sophomore | SS | Hauppauge, NY
In a 2-2 week to close out the year, Cain batted .333 with a SLG % of .500 and OB % of .333 notching four hits, two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBI. In the 2-0 sweep over Mercy, Cain recorded three hits, two of them doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored, including a 2-4 AB with a double, three RBI, and two runs scored as Queens closed out the year on a positive note.
Sarah Clancy, St. Thomas Aquinas
Graduate Student | LHP | Chino Hills, CA
Clancy was 2-0 with an earned run average of 2.00. The left-hander registered 11 strikeouts in 14 innings of work.
Elyse Marcano, St. Thomas Aquinas
Junior | 2B | Middletown, NY
Marcano sparkled offensively to help STAC post a 3-1 record on the week. The junior second baseman batted .538 (7-for-13) with four RBI, four runs, four steals and two doubles.
Natalie Moussa, Molloy
Senior | P | Chino Hills, CA
Moussa batted .333 on the weekend with a total of three RBI, one double, and a home run. In game two against Mercy, she launched a two-run home run and in the circle, she struck out five batters over six innings of play. In game one of the doubleheader against Pace, pitcher Gisselle Garcia was just one strike away from a perfect game before Moussa spoiled it with a double to center field. In game two, she added two hits and an RBI and struck out four batters in five innings. She struck out a total of eight batters against Mercy and St. Thomas Aquinas, and earned her second save of the season.
Dylan Reyer, Mercy
Sophomore | OF | Baldwin, NY
Reyer hit a team-high .450 (9-for-20) with four runs, two RBI, a triple and a team-high five stolen bases as Mercy went 6-2 on the week. The sophomore went 1-for-3 in the game two win over Molloy on Monday before going 4-for-6 with four runs in the sweep at CSI on Tuesday. The outfielder went 3-for-3 with two RBI in the game two win at Molloy on Friday before going 1-for-3 in game two against Queens on Sunday.
Victoria Seppala, Mercy
Senior | OF | Abington, MA
Seppala hit .391 (9-for-23) with a team-high eight RBI and two triples to go with a run and a double as Mercy went 6-2 on the week. The senior went 1-for-3 with an RBI to open the week in the sweep of Molloy on Monday. Seppala went 4-for-7 with four RBI in the sweep at CSI on Tuesday before going 1-for-4 with an RBI in the game two win at Molloy on Friday. The outfielder ended the week going 3-for-5 with an RBI against Queens on Sunday.
