Mike Vilardi, Queens
Sophomore | UTL | Massapequa, NY
In a 3-2 week for the Knights, Vilardi recorded a batting average of .412, SLG % of .529, and an OB % of .560 notching seven hits, two doubles, three RBI, six runs scored, and earned five walks. On the mound, he would record six innings of work allowing seven hits, two earned runs, two walks, and striking out three batters to record a 1-1 record and one save in three appearances. The sophomore reached base in all five games started and recorded a four-hit game in the 12inn win over Mercy Saturday afternoon. Vilardi recorded a hit and run scored before earning his first save of the year as he shut out Adelphi in two innings of work allowing two hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. In the 2-2 ECC series against Mercy, the sophomore reached base in all four games recording six hits, four walks, two doubles, three RBI, and five runs scored. In the 10-8 extra-inning victory, the Massapequa native recorded his second four-hit game of the year and team-tying 14th multi-hit game as he went 4-5 at the plate with a double one walk, two RBI and two runs scored. In 3.2 innings of work, he would earn the win as he held the hot bats of the Mavericks to three hits and struck out one batter.
Pitcher of the Week
Mike Knapp, Molloy
Redshirt Sophomore | P | Levittown, NY
Knapp picked up the victory on Sunday at D'Youville after throwing eight innings of scoreless baseball allowing just one hit and two walks while tying a career-high 11 strikeouts on 96 pitches. The right-hander faced just three over the minimum and retired 15 straight from the fourth through the eighth inning before being relieved to begin the ninth.
Rookie of the Week
Andre Jenkins, Mercy
Freshman | P | Chester, NY
Jenkins pitched 7.1 innings with no earned runs allowed and three strikeouts to earn the win at Queens on Friday.
ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Zach Ashline, Mercy
Junior | DH | Colonie, NY
Ashline hit .400 (8-for-20) with a team-high three home runs to go with seven RBI, five runs, and three doubles as Mercy went 3-2 on the week. The junior opened the week going 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in the win over New Haven on Tuesday. The designated hitter then went 1-for-4 in the win at Queens on Friday before going 1-for-5 with two RBI and a home run against Queens on Saturday. Ashline ended the week going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run in the game one win at Queens on Sunday.
Chris Auclair, D’Youville
Senior | LHP | Baldwinsville, NY
Auclair turned in a tremendous start for the Saints against Molloy University on Friday, striking out a season-high eleven batters while allowing just two runs (one earned) on eight hits and one walk in 7.1 innings of work.
Anthony Dimarco, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | C/LF | New Paltz, NY
Dimarco starred offensively to help STAC post a 2-2 record on the week. The sophomore catcher/left fielder batted .375 (6-for-16) with seven RBI, five runs and two doubles.
Ryan Hynes, Molloy
Graduate Student | P | Stony Brook, NY
Hynes improved to 4-0 on the campaign in Friday's 2-1 victory over D'Youville. The left-hander tossed seven innings allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine.
Peyton Jemison, Mercy
Sophomore | 3B | Monroe, NY
Jemison hit a team-high .520 (13-for-25) with five runs, seven RBI, one home run and one double as Mercy went 3-2 on the week. The sophomore opened the week going 2-for-5 with a run in the win over New Haven on Tuesday before going 3-for-5 with an RBI in the win at Queens on Friday. The third baseman then went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI against Queens on Saturday. Jemison ended the week going 5-for-10 with five RBI, a home run and two runs in the split at Queens on Sunday.
Billy Morris, D’Youville
Junior | INF/RHP | Lancaster, NY
Morris made an impact both on the mound and at the plate for D'Youville this week. With the bat, he went 9-for-16 with two doubles, four walks, and four RBI and recorded a hit in all five games. In the first game of their doubleheader against Molloy on Saturday, he collected a season-high four hits and drove in two runs. He got the start on the mound on Sunday, tossing his fourth complete game of the season, striking out one while allowing three earned runs on nine hits and one walk. He's now thrown a complete game in his last two starts.
Peter Nenadich III, Queens
Sophomore | RHP | Bayside, NY
Sophomore Peter Nenadich III put together another stellar outing Sunday afternoon in a game three start against Mercy. The Bayside recorded a career-best outing of 7.1 innings of work as he limited the Mavericks to five hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out seven batters in the no-decision. Over two appearances Nenadich III pitched 8.2 innings allowing seven hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out seven batters in the Mercy series. Facing 32 Mavericks batters, the sophomore held the opposing hitters to a .233 batting average over his two appearances.
Nick O’Conner, Queens
Senior | CF | Wantagh, NY
In a 3-2 week for the Knights, senior Nick O’Conner recorded a .348 batting average, SLG % of .435, and an OB % of .400 notching a team-high eight hits, two doubles, two walks, two runs scored, and five RBI. The Wantagh native tallied two multi-hit games including his four-hit game of the year. O’Conner’s first four-hit game of the year Saturday afternoon would help the Knights win a thrilling 12-inning game to the score of 10-8 as the starting center fielder recorded four hits, one double, with a team-high three RBI.
Jayden Patel, Molloy
Freshman | P | New Hyde Park, NY
Patel locked down two multi-inning saves in Molloy's four-game sweep at D'Youville. The freshman induced a game-ending 4-6-3 double play to secure the save on Friday before stranding the game-tying runner on second on Saturday, ending the contest with a fly out and strikeout.
AJ Vigliotti, Staten Island
Senior | 1B | Staten Island, NY
Vigliotti hit .500 (3-6) in a pair of CSI wins this week with a sacrifice fly, two walks, three runs scored, and seven RBI. The senior's week was highlighted by a grand slam against Felician University during his third 7-RBI game of the season on Thursday.
Diego Wirz, Mercy
Junior | P | Stamford, CT
Wirz went 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA and four strikeouts in 9.1 innings pitched. The junior opened the week pitching 4.1 innings of relief with one run allowed to earn the win against regionally-ranked New Haven on Tuesday. Wirz ended the week pitching 5.0 innings of relief with one run allowed to earn the win in game one at Queens on Sunday.
