Queguiner went 2-0 in the Firebirds’ 5-2 ECC victory over Daemen. The UDC senior secured a hard-fought victory over Alex Lumanog in a thrilling three-set match at No. 2 singles after teaming up with Louis Mangeon to defeat their opponents 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Rookie of the Week

Elouan Queguiner, District of Columbia
Freshman | La Ciotat, France
Queguiner went 2-0 in the Firebirds’ 5-2 victory over Daemen. The UDC freshman teamed up with Sebastiano Palma to defeat their opponents 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and then went on to defeat Lucas Garcia Angarita 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. 

Honor Roll

Tim Andersson, Queens
Sophomore | Linkoping, Sweden
In the ECC victory over St. Thomas Aquinas, Andersson went 2-0 to help Queens clinch the doubles point at No. 2 court before a No. 3 singles victory. With partner Samuel Linck, Andersson would earn a 6-4 victory over Nagamitsu Kuroda and Don Lominoque as Queens clinched the doubles point. Andersson completed his 2-0 ECC afternoon earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lominoque at No. 3 singles. 

Lucas Foix Sotos, Queens
Junior | Javea, Spain
In the ECC victory over St. Thomas Aquinas, Foix Sotos went 2-0, earning a doubles victory at No. 3 and a No. 1 singles victory. Foix Sotos and partner Loup Alleno earned a 6-3 victory over Ondrej Sramek at No. 3 doubles before Foix Sotos clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Seth Newman at No. 1 singles. 

Alexis Martin-Gibiard, Queens
Junior | Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France
Martin-Gibiard went 2-0 at No. 4 singles play on the week. The QC junior began the week earning a three-set victory over St. Thomas Aquinas’ Erik Victor Tauson as he rallied from a first-set defeat of 2-6 before earning a 6-0, 6-3 victory; the Queens junior would go on to win a 5-2 conference win over STAC. Against Adelphi on Saturday afternoon, Martin-Gibiard took home a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Andrea Albiero to complete his weekend. 

Ghali Ouajahat Filali, District of Columbia
Sophomore | Casablanca, Morocco
Ghali Ouajahat Filali defeated Jayven Williamson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles after teaming up with Gabreleul Yacob to defeat their opponents 6-3 at No. 3 doubles to close out a 2-0 day against Daemen. 

Sebastiano Palma, District of Columbia
Freshman | Rome, Italy
Palma went 2-0 in the Firebirds’ 5-2 win over Daemen. In doubles play, he teamed up with Elouan Queguiner to defeat their opponents 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and then went on to clinch the match point with a 7-6(3), 6-1 win over Rohan Chitanand at No. 4 singles.
