ECC Indoor Track and Field Report - Week Seven

Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Ibrahima Diallo, Staten Island
Junior | Staten Island, NY

Finishing behind just a single Division I runner, Diallo placed second in a 400m field of 49 at the Crimson Open. The CSI junior posted a time of 50.23, which ranks second in the ECC and seventh in the NCAA East Region. 


Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Emmanuel Mena Jimenez, St. Thomas Aquinas
Graduate Student | Throws | West Haverstraw, NY

Mena Jimenez won two events over the weekend, placing first in both the weight throw (NCAA Division II provisional standard 19.64m, field of 25) and the shot put (15.47m, field of 35) at the Big Apple Invitational on Saturday. His career-best shot put performance now ranks second in both the ECC and NCAA East Region while he maintains the top ECC and NCAA mark in the weight throw (20.74m), which ranks third nationally. 


Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Aarysa Moore, Felician
Sophomore | Hurdles | Wappingers Falls, NY

Moore turned in a pair of standout performances at the Fastrack National Invite. In the 60m hurdles, the Felician sophomore clocked a 9.07 in the prelims and went on to drop a 9.06 in the final, placing sixth overall and first among all non-Division I or professional competitors. She was just .01 seconds off from her season-best 60m hurdles time (9.05), which ranks second in the ECC. Moore also high jumped for 1.60m to place sixth in a field of 33; that mark remains tied for second in the ECC. 


Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Sarah Ferguson, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Pole Vault | Lexington, KY

Ferguson won the pole vault competition in a field of 19 at the Brockport Multi and Invitational over the weekend, clearing the 4.15m (NCAA Division II provisional standard 13’ 7 1/4”) bar for a new PR. The mark sits second in both the ECC and NCAA East Region, behind Olympian teammate Brynn King, and ranks sixth in the nation.

Men's
Diego Arellano Jasso, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman | Multis | Brockport, NY

Arellano Jasso placed fourth in a field of 13 in the heptathlon at the Brockport Multi and Invitational meet over the weekend with a final converted score of 4,495 points. That mark leads both the ECC and NCAA East Region and ranks second on the all-time Roberts Wesleyan list. 

Robbie Babson, Georgian Court
Senior | Toms River, NJ

Babson won the shot put in a field of 42 with an NCAA Division II provisional standard of 16.43m (53’ 11), just two inches behind his conference-leading mark from earlier in the season, at the Fastrack National Invite.

Jayden Bennermon, St. Thomas Aquinas
Senior | Jumps | Poughkeepsie, NY

Bennermon won both the triple jump (14.82m, field of 10) and high jump (1.95m, field of 11) at the Big Apple Invitational on Saturday. The STAC graduate student now holds the NCAA Division II provisional standard in the triple jump event.

Devin Jones, Felician
Senior | Jumps | Neptune, NJ

Jones won the long jump in a field of 26 with an NCAA Division II provisional standard of 7.27m at the Fastrack National Invite.

Austin Melvin, Roberts Wesleyan
Freshman | Pole Vault | Central Square, NY

Melvin improved his own school record in the pole vault as he jumped to a first-place finish in a field of 22 at the Brockport Multi and Invitational over the weekend. Melvin cleared the 5.09m (16' 8 1/4”) bar to add another inch to the school record that he set in January. The NCAA Division II provisional standard jump leads the ECC and NCAA East Region and ranks 11th nationally. 

Kadeem Patterson, Queens
Sophomore | Sprints | Bronx, NY

Patterson clocked the third-fastest 200m time in the ECC this season with a 22.39 at the Fastrack National Invite, good for 19th in the field of 105. 

Wayne Robinson, Georgian Court
Senior | Sprints

Robinson posted a pair of performances that rank in the ECC’s top seven at this point in the season, clocking a 50.72 in the 400m (4th in ECC) and 22.56 in the 200m (7th in ECC). 

Samuel Yepps, Felician
Freshman | Sprints | North Bergen, NJ

Yepps clocked the third-fastest 400m time in the ECC this season with a 50.48 at the Fastrack National Invite, good for 22nd in the field of 119.

Women's
Carly Koprowski, Queens
Sophomore | Distance | Wantagh, NY

Koprowski dropped the fastest 800m in the ECC this season, racing to a PR 2:16.94 to place eighth in a field of 86 at the Fastrack National Invite. That time also ranks second in the NCAA East Region. 

Madison MacNeill, D’Youville
Sophomore | Jumps/Sprints | West Seneca, NY

At the Brockport Multi and Invitational on Saturday, MacNeill placed fourth in the high jump with a score of 1.54m.

Jadyn Mullen, Roberts Wesleyan
Sophomore | Multis | Batavia, NY

Mullen improved her own school record in the pentathlon as she won the multi event in a field of 14 at the Brockport Multi and Invitational meet over the weekend. Mullen scored a new record of 3,421 points as she posted wins in four of the five events. She won the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 9.34 seconds, won the high jump and tied her personal-best with a mark of 1.56m (5’ 1 1/4”), won the long jump with a personal-best 5.34m (17’ 6 1/4”), and also won the 800m with a time of 2:26.91. Mullen currently ranks 25th in the nation, first in the NCAA East Region, and first in the ECC.

Lainie Smith, D’Youville
Junior | Distance | Lancaster, NY

At the Brockport Multi and Invitational on Saturday, Smith took home a first-place finish and set a personal record in the mile with a time of 5:14.04, which converts to 5:10.97 to rank third in the ECC. She also set a personal record and placed sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:27.57, which converts to 2:25.89 to rank eighth in the ECC. 

Lydia Smith, D’Youville
Graduate Student | Middle Distance/Jumps | Williamsport, PA

At the Brockport Multi and Invitational on Friday, Smith took fourth place in the pentathlon, placing second with a PR high jump of 1.53m, placing second in the 800m (2:27.88), and setting PRs in the shot put (8.52m) and long jump (4.86m).
