AMHERST, N.Y. – All-ECC Second Team goalkeeper Becca Schultz made 12 saves to anchor No. 4 Daemen to a 2-1 win over No. 5 Queens in 2025 ECC Women’s Soccer Championship First Round action at Royal Park on Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats (11-5-1, 4-2-1 ECC) will now advance to face No. 1 Mercy (13-2-2, 5-0-2 ECC) in the 2025 ECC Women’s Soccer Championship Semifinals this Sunday, November 9 at 1:00 PM in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
The Wildcats scored their first goal early (8’) when Daemen midfielder Olivia Kayser drew a foul in the box and All-ECC First Team midfielder Macayla Hansen converted the penalty kick at the 7:54 mark.
Minutes out of the halftime break, ECC Offensive Player of the Year Kylie Miranto doubled Daemen’s lead on her 15th goal of the season (49’), assisted by fellow All-ECC First Team forward Kaitlyn Wright. Miranto took a match-high seven shots, with four on frame.
After firing off 12 shots on goal, all saved by Schultz, Queens finally broke through in the 87th minute as Anna Tavantzis scored on a feed from Avery Shreffler.
Schultz was outstanding in net, making six saves in each half, which included a flurry to close the first (37’, 39’, 42’) and open the second (47’, 48’, 50’).
All-ECC Third Team back Nevada Hahn helped hold down Daemen’s defensive core, playing the full 90 minutes in the back with Schultz.
The Knights (2-9-6, 1-3-3 ECC) held a 21-13 shots advantage over the Wildcats; Ashley Kieblesz and Ana Lekanides combined for 10 total shots and seven of QC’s 13 shots on goal.
Queens goalkeeper Samantha Hines-Hirsch made three saves vs. two goals allowed in 81:13.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – All-ECC Third Team forward Jenna Northup scored the decisive goal in the 67th minute to lift No. 3 Roberts Wesleyan to a 1-0 win over No. 6 D’Youville in 2025 ECC Women’s Soccer Championship First Round action at Roberts Stadium on Thursday evening. The Redhawks (9-3-4, 4-1-2 ECC) will now advance to face No. 2 Molloy (11-2-4, 4-0-3 ECC) in the 2025 ECC Women’s Soccer Championship Semifinals this Sunday, November 9 at noon in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
Northup’s sixth goal of the fall came on a feed from All-ECC Third Team forward Alyssa Hackett, who picked up her third assist of the season.
Roberts Wesleyan dominated on offense, holding a 22-4 advantage in shots. Hackett and All-ECC Second Team forward Mackenzie Hagan combined for nine shots, with three on goal apiece.
All four of D’Youville’s shots for the match landed on frame, but RWU goalkeeper Mia Tyndell blanked the Saints’ offensive efforts with four saves in the full-match victory.
Danica Brill led D’Youville (2-10-3, 1-5-1 ECC) with a pair of shots on goal while Saints goalkeeper Amanda Kit made 12 saves, including eight in the second half.
