Holy Family Tops 2025-26 ECC Men's Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll; HFU’s Javon Bowen and Georgian Court’s Mark Linton Share Preseason Honors

COLONIA, N.J. – The four-time defending champion Holy Family men’s track and field team has been picked first in the 2025-26 ECC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league’s nine head coaches and announced on Tuesday afternoon. Holy Family senior Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica) and Georgian Court junior Mark Linton (Orange Bay, Jamaica) were tabbed the ECC Preseason Co-Athletes of the Year.

Coming off of their fourth consecutive ECC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship title, the Tigers took the top spot in the preseason poll with 69 points and five first-place votes. Holy Family tied for a meet-high five event winners on its way to the title last year as Bowen won gold in both the 60m dash (6.89) and the long jump, posting a meet-record mark of 7.33m, and Nishorn Pierre won gold in both the high jump and triple jump, recording a meet-record mark of 15.16m. The Distance Medley Relay of Mike McGerry, Tyler Wesley, Jonathan Hackshaw, and Thelonius Lucien took home HFU's fifth win in 10:47.67. The Tigers added five silver and four bronze medals for a meet-high 14 in all. Of additional note, Odane Smith turned in a pair of medal-worthy performances, long jumping for 7.21m and triple jumping for 14.53m as Holy Family claimed six medals from the jumps.

Roberts Wesleyan, who finished runner-up at last year’s ECC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship, sits just two points behind Holy Family (67) with three first-place votes. The runner-up Redhawks earned 13 total medals at last year’s meet and tied Holy Family with five golds from Owen White, who dominated the mile and 3000m, Jackson Doran in the 800m, Zachary Hall in the 5000m, and Austin Melvin in the pole vault. RWU also saw a pair of freshman Redhawks earn multiple pieces of hardware, as Trevor Keitkamp (mile, 3000m) and Thomas McConnelee (shot put, weight throw) took home silvers across the board.

Felician comes in third in the preseason poll with 51 points and the last first-place vote. Claiming eight total medals, six of which were bronze, Felician came in third at last year’s ECC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship. Amair Buffaloe won the 200m for the Golden Falcons, Shane Connell placed second in the high jump, and Jake DeJulia earned a pair third-place finishes in the 200m and 400m.

Georgian Court (47 points) sits fourth in the preseason poll. Ryan Pettrow (1000m) and Robbie Babson (shot put) won gold for the Lions at last year’s ECC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship while Linton placed third in the weight throw. The Preseason Co-Athlete of the Year, Linton went on to place first in the discus throw, second in the hammer throw, and fourth in the shot put at the 2025 CACC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Molloy (40 points) and St. Thomas Aquinas (40 points) tie for the fifth spot while Staten Island (7th, 38 points), Daemen (8th, 35 points), and Queens (9th, 18 points) complete the preseason poll.
