DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – ECC Player of the Year Gabriela Bieniek and fellow All-ECC First Team selection Grace Dilena combined for 26 kills, ECC Setter of the Year Adriana Rivera Rodriguez dished out 30 assists, and All-ECC Second Team selection Mia Illes-Hair recorded four blocks to lead No. 1 Mercy to a 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-18, 25-17) over No. 4 D'Youville in the 2025 ECC Women's Volleyball Championship Semifinals at Mercy's Judge Athletic Center in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Friday afternoon.
The Mavericks (19-4, 11-1 ECC) will now advance to face No. 2 Molloy in the 2025 ECC Women's Volleyball Championship Final tomorrow evening at 5:00 PM.
Behind a 51.7 hitting percentage on 17 kills in 29 attempts, Mercy won the first set in come-from-behind fashion, 25-22. Tied 21-21, Rivera Rodriguez set up Dilena for back-to-back kills before the ECC Setter of the Year ripped off a service ace to extend Mercy's edge, 24-21. Two plays later, Dilena put away her eighth kill of the set to put the Mavs ahead, 1-0.
Tied 14-14 in the second set, Mercy went on a 6-0 run with a kill and three consecutive service aces from Dilena and back-to-back kills from Bieniek to jump out to a 20-14 advantage en route to a a 25-18, second-set win.
The Mavericks took advantage of five DYU attack errors to jump out to an early 11-2 advantage in the third set and never looked back en route to the 25-17, match-sweeping victory.
D'Youville (10-16, 5-7 ECC) was led by Gabrielle Dials' 10 kills, Alina Bertens Deckart's 21 assists, and nine digs apiece from Angelyn Jaramillo and All-ECC Second Team selection Cameron Ulinski.

Leading 16-14 late in the first set, Molloy took advantage of three Daemen attack errors to go on a 6-2 run. The Wildcats inched back to within four, 22-18, but Moulder and Stanley registered back-to-back kills before Daemen's ninth attack error clinched the opening-set win for the Lions.
Daemen (12-14, 8-4 ECC) bounced back with a gritty 28-26 win in the second set. Leading 20-18, the Wildcats once again saw their lead diminish as the Lions tore off for six unanswered points to take a 24-20 advantage. However, Daemen used a Molloy service error, service ace from Maddie Schamaun, and three consecutive attack errors from the Lions to take a 25-24 lead.
Back-to-back kills from Stanley put the Lions back up, 26-25, but Molloy then committed two more attack errors, with a kill from All-ECC Second Team selection Nahirka Malpica sandwiched in between, as the Wildcats evened out the score with a 28-26 win.
An 8-2 run thanks to a trio of kills from Rios set the Lions apart in an eventual 25-20 third-set win.
In the fourth set, leading by just one, 16-15, Molloy ended the match on a 9-4 run thanks to another pair of Rios kills and a trio of Wildcat attack errors.
For Daemen, All-ECC First Team selection Keira Mullen finished with 10 kills and 11 digs while Malpica went for a team-high 13 kills. Schamaun and Avery Dole combined for 41 assists while Rancy Solé notched four blocks.
Prior to the start of the match, Zalta was honored as the winner of 2025 ECC Women's Volleyball Elite 20 Award. Modeled off of the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, this award is presented to a competing student-athlete with the highest grade point average in each of the conference's 20 championships. The graduate student Zalta has compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA as she pursues her MBA in healthcare administration.
