Player of the Week
Aileen Balderas, Staten Island
Sophomore | Shortstop | Los Angeles, Calif.
Balderas was the driving force behind much of the CSI offense during the team's week-long trip to The Spring Games in Florida. The Staten Island sophomore shortstop hit .452 (14-for-31) and slugged at a clip of .710 (two doubles and two home runs) on the trip and was 14-for-26 ahead of a fifth consecutive doubleheader on Friday. Among the highlights of her week were a 5-for-5 game against St. Cloud State University on Tuesday and back-to-back games with home runs the following day against Minnesota Crookston and Southwest Minnesota on Wednesday. Upon returning home, the sophomore leads the conference in hitting, runs scored, hits, slugging percentage, and OPS.
Pitcher of the Week
Caylea Campbell, Queens
Freshman | Utility | Murrieta, Calif.
Campbell went 5-0 as she pitched 40.0 innings, allowing only seven earned runs with seven walks and 27 strikeouts with an ERA of 1.23. She would pitch a career-best 8.0 inning as Queens earned a 4-2 victory over Goldey-Beacom on Thursday afternoon. In the Knights’ final two games of the week on Saturday, Campbell pitched 10 innings, allowing four hits and one earned run with 12 strikeouts. In the morning against Lynn, the rookie recorded a career-best six strikeouts in three innings of work in relief. She would earn the game two start against Bloomfield and would take a no-hitter and shutout into the top of the sixth inning and tied a career-best six strikeouts as Queens earned a 2-1 victory to cap off the trip on a strong note.

Campbell also notched six hits - four for extra bases on three doubles and a home run - and seven RBI on the week to slug at a clip of .571.

Chrissie Hunn, Molloy
Senior | Infield | Croydon, Pa.
Huhn averaged a .385 batting average on the week, recording a hit in each of Molloy's four contests, including two against Franklin Pierce.
Sophia Mariottini, Molloy
Freshman | Pitcher | Hollister, Calif.
Mariottini put up a 1.93 ERA in a 1-1 week in the circle. The freshman tossed 14 innings and allowed just three earned runs while striking out seven, including matching a career-high five strikeouts against Franklin Pierce.
Averi Miller, Mercy
Freshman | Shortstop | Las Vegas, Nev.
Miller hit .333 (8-for-24) in her first week as a Maverick with three RBI, two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles in eight games. The freshman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double in Mercy's win over Ferris State on Thursday. The shortstop then went 1-for-4 with a run against Davenport on Friday and 2-for-3 against Ferris State on Saturday. Miller went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double in Mercy's win over Ursuline on Saturday and ended the week going 1-for-1 with a run and two stolen bases against Illinois-Springfield on Sunday.
Angelina Oquendo, Mercy
Graduate Student | Pitcher | Middle Island, N.Y.
Oquendo went 1-0 in the circle with a team-best 0.82 ERA and nine strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched over four games. The graduate student opened her season pitching 8.0 innings with one earned run allowed and four strikeouts to earn the win over Ferris State on Thursday. The pitcher then tossed 3.0 scoreless innings against Cedarville on Friday before ending the day with 2.1 scoreless innings pitched against Davenport. Oquendo ended the week with 4.0 innings pitched and one earned run allowed against Franklin Pierce on Sunday.
Caroline Pescatore, Queens
Junior | Outfield | North Babylon, N.Y.
Starting all nine games in right field, Pescatore led the Knights by hitting a team-high .367 with 11 hits as she recorded three multi-hit games with two two-hit games and one three-hit game while recording a double, an RBI, and four runs scored. She ended the weekend with a five-game hitting streak.
Eliana Raposo, St. Thomas Aquinas
Sophomore | Pitcher/Outfield | Wareham, Mass.
Raposo hit .438 on the week, with seven hits in 16 at-bats. The sophomore pitcher/outfielder compiled an RBI triple, scored two runs, and swiped two bases in that span.
Emma Zumpol, Queens
Junior | Third Base | Patchogue, N.Y.
Starting all nine games at third base, Zumpol hit .310 with nine hits, two multi-hit games with one two-hit performance, and one three-hit performance to go with two doubles, two RBI, two walks, two HBP, and five runs scored. Playing the hot corner, Zumpol recorded 12 putouts and 17 assists. Zumpol would reach base in eight straight games and recorded a three-game hitting streak.
