Defensive Player of the Week
Joey Atkins, Daemen (Gr, F - Watervliet, N.Y.)
Atkins totaled 23 points, a team-high 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks during the Daemen East Region Challenge. He also helped the Wildcats limit Chestnut Hill to just 50 points with 14 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals.

Rookie of the Week
Nasir Hammonds, D'Youville (R-Fr, G - Norfolk, Va.)
In his opening week for the Saints, Hammonds had 13 points against Dominican (N.Y.) Friday evening and backed it up with a 20 point performance against Caldwell on Saturday. He averaged 16.5 points per game and added 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.

ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Malik Brooks, Roberts Wesleyan (Sr, G - Lockport, N.Y.)
?Brooks averaged 26.5 points per game on 68.0 percent shooting in two games at the East Region Challenge. He set a career-high for points in both games after starting the season with 25 against Goldey-Beacom and following with 28 against Chestnut Hill. Brooks also added 7.0 rebounds per game and totaled three steals and one block. 

Sunnie Diamond, Queens (Sr, G - Atlanta, Ga.)
Senior guard Sunnie Diamond averaged 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists as he recorded 52 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists to go with four steals in the opening two games of the year. Against Pace, Diamond recorded a near triple-double with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists before ending the week with 26 points, five rebounds, and two assists in the overtime victory over Adelphi.

Dylan Fasoyiro, Daemen (Sr, G - Houston, Texas)
Named MVP of the Daemen East Region Challenge. Shot 59-percent (13-22) from the field and averaged 16.5 points during wins over Chestnut Hill and Goldey-Beacom. Played 33 minutes and scored 21 points in a 75-67 win over Goldey-Beacom.

Alex May, Mercy (Sr, G - Englewood, N.J.)
May averaged a team-high 17.0 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting from the floor with 5.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 1.0 blocks per game in two games this week. The senior opened the week with 16 points, six rebounds, and two assists at Caldwell on Friday. May ended the week with a team-high and career-high 18 points with five rebounds, three assists and two blocks against Dominican on Sunday.
