Miranto, Tappeto, Anaya, Carpenter, McClellan Headline ECC Women's Soccer All-Conference Awards

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – Daemen's Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) and Magda Carpenter (Lebanon, Conn.), Molloy's Sarah Tappeto (Merrick, N.Y.), Mercy's Kamy Anaya (Long Beach, Calif.), and Roberts Wesleyan's Sarah McClellan headlined the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer postseason awards, as voted on my the league's nine head coaches and announced on Friday afternoon.

Miranto was named the ECC's Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in total points (36), points per game (2.40), goals (16), and goals per game (1.07).  The Daemen forward registered at least one point in 11 of 15 matches for the Wildcats, which included a season-high seven points (3g, 1a) against St. Thomas Aquinas, four games with five-plus points, and three hat tricks. 

The ECC Preseason-turned-Postseason Defensive Player of the Year, Tappeto tied for third in the ECC in total points (17), in the mix with three All-Conference forwards, after dishing out five assists (third in ECC) and netting six goals (sixth in ECC) in the regular season; four of those goals came in pairs in wins over Lincoln and D'Youville. Tappeto logged 1,512 minutes in 17 matches, which included 15 full matches, and led the Lions' defense to six clean sheets. 

Anaya repeats as the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year, finishing the regular season second in the ECC in total shutouts with six clean sheets to go with a 74.5 save percentage and 0.93 goals against average. The Mercy netminder turned away 44 shots vs. 14 goals allowed this fall, as the Mavericks tied for second in the ECC for lboth fewest amount of goals allowed and goals against aveage at 0.88 goals per game.

Carpenter registered 13 points on five goals and three assists in 15 games played for the Daemen Wildcats, recording multi-goal games in wins over Staten Island and Molloy en route to ECC Rookie of the Year accolades. 

Roberts Wesleyan head coach Sarah McClellan wraps up the top awards after earning her peers' vote as the ECC Coach of the Year. Under McClellan's guidance, the Redhawks finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-1-3 (6-0-2 ECC) and won the league's regular-season title for the first time in program history. Roberts Wesleyan conceded just one goal in conference play and recorded a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 matches of the regular season. The Redhawks also earned the top seed for the ECC Women's Soccer Championship and will host the fourth-seeded Molloy/fifth-seeded Queens in the tournament semifinals on Sunday.
