South Huntington, N.Y. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's teams captured the first East Coast Conference titles in program history at the ECC Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon. This is the first-year Roberts Wesleyan is eligible to win conference and NCAA Championships after earning full member NCAA Division II status.

In the men's championship, the Redhawks dominated the field finishing 57 points ahead of runner-up, Queens (172-115). Roberts won seven of the 20 scored events, five of which were individual along with two relay victories, as well as having student-athletes score a point in 18 of the events.

Gabe Rivera (200m), Thomas Rodger (800m), Aaron Bellomo (mile run), Kevin Brown (5000m), and Aaron McGinnis (long jump) were the Redhawks' individual winners.

Roberts 4 x 200 meter relay team of David Donovan, Jared Gonzalez, Rivera, and McGinnis as well as the 4 x 800 meter team of Luke Jackson, Robbie Schrenker, Justin Bender, and Rodger both crossed the finish line first in their respective races.

Although not as dominant as the men's squad, the Roberts Wesleyan women's team safely outdistanced second place Georgian Court, 140-113. Like the men, the women won seven of the 20 events, six of which were individual efforts along with one relay win.
