Oakdale, N.Y. - After meeting for the ECC Championship last weekend, the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights and Dowling College Golden Lions will square off once again on Saturday, November 20, this time for the NCAA East Region title.

Senior Terry Masava (Nairobi, Kenya) notched a match-high 26
kills, hit .426 for the match and added a team-leading 16 digs to
help push the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights to a straight
sets, 25-21, 27-25, 26-24, win over the University of New Haven
Chargers and a berth inthe NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball East
Regional Final which will be
played at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. UB will face the host Dowling College Golden Lions in the East Fianl for the second straight season with a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight on the line.
With the win, Bridgeport is now 25-4 overall. New Haven ends its season at 27-3 with two of its losses coming against Bridgeport.
Masava was joined in double figure kills by graduate student Agatha Baliddawa-Mukisa (Jinja, Uganda) with 11 kills.
Junior setter Tamara Leite (Natal, Brazil) directed the Bridgeport offense with 41 assists.

Dowling 3 Adelphi 0
The Dowling Volleyball team defeated the Adelphi University
Panthers, 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-14), in the NCAA DII East Region
semifinals. The Golden Lions now advance to the regional
final where they will face the University of Bridgeport, who
defeated the University of New Haven, 3-0, earlier in the
Patrycja Klekotka and Monika Kasperek-Szulc both led the match with 9 kills, hitting .500 and .444 respectively in the three sets. Also having a big game for the Golden Lions was Maja Potpara, who finished with 8 kills, 27 assists, and 9 digs. Hilary Pavels held the top spot for Adelphi, hitting .240 with 7 kills and 8 digs.
Dowling jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the first set, but the Panthers kept it within 5 to put pressure on the Golden Lions. DC was able to pull away again, holding a 21-10 advantage, but Adelphi would not go away quietly, going on an 8-3 tear to cut it to 24-19. Dowling was able to put the final point away thanks to a Maja Potpara kill, giving them the victory.
The Golden Lions ran away with the second set despite the Panthers keeping it close in the first few minutes of play. At 6-5, Dowling took 19 of the next 24 points to give them the 25-14 win. The third set would be the same result as the Golden Lions earned another 25-14 victory, giving them the match and a chance at the East Regional crown.
Dowling will now face the University of Bridgeport Saturday at 5:00 PM. The two teams have met each other three times this season already, with Dowling holding a 2-1 record against them in 2010, including a Conference Championship win.
