Player of the Week

Jennifer Edlund, St. Thomas Aquinas (Sr., 3rd singles and 2nd doubles, Stony Point, NY / North Rockland HS) - Edlund won both her singles matches and both her doubles matches in two wins this week over Post and Georgian Court. She did not drop a game in her victory over Post.

Rookie of the Week

Chelsea Annese, New Haven (Fr., No. 3/4 singles, No. 2 doubles, Topsham, Maine / Mount Ararat School) - Annese won all three of her matches last week to improve to 8-4 overall this fall.  She gave up just three games in the three matches last week, the last two coming at the No. 3 position.  She also scored a win at No. 4 against C.W. Post.  Annese also teamed to post a 2-1 record in doubles. 

ECC Notebook

ECC: The ECC Women's Team Championship Tournament takes place this coming Wednesday and Thursday. The four-team tourney will be played at Queens. Wednesday's Final Four features No. 4 seed Dowling at No. 1 seed Queens, and No. 3 seed Adelphi facing No. 2 seed Concordia ... Final Four winners will meet Thursday for the title ... The ECC Individual Flight Championships will follow this coming Saturday at Queens. 

New Haven: The Chargers closed out their season with three straight team victories, including an ECC win over C.W. Post.  The streak improved the team to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the ECC.  Freshman Chelsea Annese won all three of her matches last week to improve to 8-4 overall this fall.  She gave up just three games in the three matches last week, the last two coming at the No. 3 position.  Annese and Leah Smith also teamed to post a 2-1 record in doubles last week.  Up next for the Chargers, the ECC Individual Flight Championships.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The STAC women won both their matches this past week. They topped Post (CT) University 9 -0 on Tuesday. They did not lose a game in the entire match. On Thursday they tripped up Georgian Court (NJ) University by the score of 5 - 4. Both teams are members of the CACC. 

Molloy: The Lady Lions went 1-1 for the week with a conference loss to Concordia on October 2 and a non-conference victory over Goldey-Beacom on October 5.  Nicole Bennardo and Shannon Skeggs took second doubles against Goldey-Beacom, while Bennardo and Skeggs also took their singles matches.  Annie Ayala and Meghan McDevitt teamed up in third doubles and defeated Goldey-Beacom, while Ayala also won fifth singles.
